This campground is located on the Flying J Farm, a sustainable farm where we practice regenerative agriculture growing grass-fed, grass-finished beef, maple syrup, and vegetables, chemical free, no antibiotics, and no hormones. The proprietor is Richard Jensen, a former pilot, professor, writer, and editor, now enjoying retirement as a farmer. Farm products are available to campers for purchase.
The land is described as "250 acres of rolling hills with a lake, a pond and three streams." The road to the campsite runs through pastures so campers may need to open AND CLOSE gates so the cows don't get out, on your way to the campsite. The camping area is located near our developing perennial food forest where we have started fruit trees, nut trees, and berries. A garden of annuals including herbs and flowers is located near the area as well. There is an abundance of wildlife including, deer, water birds, song birds, hawks, rabbits, squirrels, raccoons, turkeys, coyotes, and owls.
For campers we offer a 10 percent discount on all of our organically grown farm products including grass-fed beef, maple syrup, and vegies. Beef includes grilling steaks, hamburger patties, hot dogs, and brats.
New in July, blackberry season has started. Campers are welcome to help themselves to wild blackberries at the edges of the woods and on trails through the woods.
"RANGER TALK". Do you attend the ranger talk when you go to National Parks? You can request an educational experience while you are camping at the Flying J Farm. Farmer Richard Jensen is pleased to offer a short talk and discussion about finding health through food, protecting the environment, and alternative energy as practiced at our farm. Just ask for it in your message while booking your stay, it is free.

We booked a full weekend and it was the best camping experience we've ever had. We stayed at site #3 and had easy access to the toilet, water, the lake and hiking trails. The fire pit was in great condition. There is a lot of space between the sites so it feels quite private! We had a ton of space. You can tell Richard really loves his home and we're so delighted he's shared this beautiful space with others. Highly recommend chatting with him, his friendly pup and checking out his farm shop!

Loved tent camping on the farm. The views of the lake and wooded area are beautiful. Convince of having the cabin with a bathroom and kitchen clean up area was helpful. Sites were spaced out nicely so we had privacy if we wanted or could chat with other campers. Already booked the next visit!!

Thanks, Chris, you are welcome anytime!
Was an excellent getaway an hour from where we live. The drive through the cows was fun and the camp site had amazing views of the little lake, very peaceful and was everything we wanted! Richard was very nice and led us back to the site. It was a bonus that the campsites had a bench and fire pit. Will definitely be back to camp and purchase fresh meat from his store.
The Flying J Farm was perfect for our weekend camping excursion! We had a private, large wooded site right on the water and there was a cabin within walking distance if you need water or a toilet. There are canoes and an army boat to take out on the lake. We felt comfortable letting the kids roam around and went hiking on the trails. There are some fun things to search for including an art installation and the Bent Tree out on the trails. I really enjoyed talking to Richard about the farm and he even explained the syrup process and showed me the sugar shack. No doubt we will be repeat campers here and i can't wait to see it when the landscape fills in!

Thanks, Erica, I really enjoyed having you and family. The children were so nice, happy and creative. I hope to see you all again. Richard
Had a good time camping here with a few buddies. We picked site 4 as it seemed more secluded on that side. We enjoyed the ample forest as we all hung a hammock to sleep in. The fire pit area was clear and a great hangout spot. It was pretty windy, so we we didn't really get a chance to fish. I think the pond is ripe for some fat sallys though. I would definitely recommend this camp.
Richard is so kind and helpful, I have been camping here multiple times and I’m planning on coming back!
Beautiful, expansive property. Richard was very communicative and thoughtful, especially with the cold weather making sure I was good. Hope to return when there’s less snow down the road!

Richard was very kind and helpful! The campgrounds are beautiful! It’s hard to believe that we are so close to Columbus! Lots of small shops and things to do in Johnstown. We will be back in the spring!

Thanks, Jonathon, actually, Coyotes killed one of my calves last fall, lets talk.
