Serene campsite nestled in the woods on the beautiful Maumee River in Waterville, Ohio. Feel free to camp in our vintage 1960's VW Bus or pitch a tent! You will have access to the free use of kayaks, a canoe, a paddleboat, and a fishing boat with an electric motor for the purpose of navigating between the beautiful islands that look out from your campsite. Don't worry non-swimmers, the river is usually so low that you could walk to the islands, and of course, we provide life preservers! (While there is no extra charge for the use of our watercraft, reservations are required.) A 12-mile hiking/biking trail abuts our property and runs through the woods along the river to Grand Rapids, Ohio. A 110 electrical outlet, as well as a spigot, is available to draw water from. There is a porta-potty about 150 feet from your campsite. The closet neighbor is our cabin which is about 50 before your campsite. This is our only campsite so you'll have use of more than 100 feet of river frontage. (There is no limit to the number of tents, campers, etc. - just a modest $10 per person charge in addition to your booking.) The fishing is great and there are many nearby historic attractions. A general store and several restaurants are just a few short miles away by either car or by the hiking trail through the woods.

Cathy went over the top to accommodate our late arrival at their campsite and we really appreciated it greatly! She and her partner Parker have set up a very unique camp situation right along the Maumee River, which has a history connected to the Erie Canal. Peaceful, serene, and easy to get to place to camp.

This place is a hodden gem! The view, the atmosphere, and the hosts, Cathy and Parker, are fantastic! The site is right on the river and very well taken care of. Cathy and Parker are the most lovely couple and made sure that we enjoyed our stay. They even let us use their boat / kayaks to explore the river! We also took advantage of the beautiful walking / biking trail that runs along the property and the river. There is a kayak rental place not even a mile down that trail. Many parks and trails are in the area. We even visited an awesome dog friendly brewery right down the street. We cannot say enough good things about our stay, and we will definitely be returning.

This was a beautiful spot on the river. The hosts were warm and generous. We interacted with Parker who was exceptionally friendly and took great care of us. We had planned on camping. But it rained unexpectedly so they upgraded us to a cozy and charming cabin on site. There is a beautiful tow path (walking/ running trail) adjacent to the property, and you also have access to kayaks. The stretch of the river is beautiful. Great stay! Next time we might try that VW bus... :)
