This was a nice place with a fire ring, picnic table, portable toilet, and plenty of soft grass. We liked that there was no one else around. It has more of a spruced up dispersed camping feel (which we appreciate). We also liked that the cell service (Verizon) was poor, except for not being able to check the weather.
This was not our first time camping here - out host Ron is great! He told us about a series of natural areas a short drive down the road where we spent the day hiking and exploring a cave. We finished up treasure hunting the Variety store in Bainbridge, shopping in the Amish store JR's General Store, then settling in on some good camp food - Dutch Oven Ravioli! We can't wait to go back!

Very clean, well kept. Hosts were always quick to answer any question or offer help.
Our boy scout troop spent the chilly weekend at Camp Red Barn. Some of the boys needed to do some hiking for their hiking merit badge, and we hiked from camp, across Rattlesnake Creek, then worked our way into the forest and between the bridle trails nearby and some country road walking we cobbled together a 15 mile hike. It's fun to watch the Amish drive by in their buggies!
We forgot our propane and met with Ron the owner, he gladly helped us out with our "lack of preparedness". Thanks Ron! Turns out he was an Eagle Scout and really enjoys having scouts come camp at his place.
Night times you see every star there is, and hear plenty of wildlife. I woke up Saturday night to a Buck snorting nearby.
We have found a place we will frequently return to - 5 stars highly recommend!
