Places to see near Jerry F.’s Land
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
The site is next to the road. Host was responsive. We crossed a creek then walked through another creek to the site in the woods so bring waterproof boots. There’s a porta potty behind the shop which is a short hike through the pines. There are two drives at either end of the shop for trailers to park. All campsites are marked with signs designating that they are hipcamp sites. It’d be nice if the signs were numbered as campers tend to gravitate to site two and book site one.
Calm & peaceful, yet close to hiking
I really loved this spot! Yes, it is near the road as others have mentioned but it is barely noticeable until a car passes by (and there are not many). The brush is thick so I could hardly see the road myself. The cows across the street are an added bonus & we loved it. There is a fire ring and logs to sit on. The pine needles make for a soft spot for tent camping. The small creek trickles away and is lovely to listen to while relaxing. Jerry was very kind & responsive. There is wifi available at the store where you park your car. It is a very mini-hike to the camp, takes about 5 minutes and there are little logs across the small stream so you don’t have to get your shoes wet. Hocking Hills hiking is very close by as well. All in all, 10/10.. camp here! Thank you, Jerry!
Car camping couple
We car camped at site 1 and enjoyed a beautiful view of the hills. Jerry was very welcoming and helpful when we arrived. The porta potty was well serviced and a short, but steep hike down the driveway. I’d recommend this site to anyone!
No-hassle site in hocking hills
It's got everything you need. I stayed at site #4 which was optimal for star-gazing. It's a great affordable alternative to the official camp grounds in the park which are often egregiously over-crowded. Instant booking, zero-hassle, affordable, and not very hard to find (bring a satellite gps). It's private but not so private enough to get spooked when you're by yourself in the middle of nowhere, and it's VERY close to Ash Cave, Conkle Nature Preserve, Cantwell Cliffs, etc. The wifi was SUPER handy when I needed to look up directions or google hikes. I felt very safe as a female camper on my first solo trip, and the instant booking and comprehensible directions to my camp site helped eased my anxiety about finding my place. If you have social anxiety or you'd like to respectfully get in and get out without having to do a traditional orientation/meet-greet that is common with staying on other private properties, on HipCamp, this is your spot.
A beautiful campsite!! The trail was adorable and we loved getting to see and hear the cows in the morning! The view from campsite #4 was amazing as well. It was definitely a bit buggy so packing bug spray is definitely recommended.
