It was quiet (except the sewage pump that ran continuously). Fortunately it was far enough away to be acceptable. The camp staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and sincerely interested in us having a good experience. I think their names were Dana and Spence brought us piles of dry firewood to use. Awesome! There is much to explore. We had a very pleasant time of camping.
We really enjoyed our time at Lakeside Stay! There are plenty of places to hike and explore and my kids loved every minute of it. Having a picnic table at camp was a nice addition and Dana was very helpful by providing information about the area.
We stayed in site 6. It was not at all what we were expecting. It was not: on a lake, private, quiet, or a level site. It was: above the marshy end of a large pond, very close to another site, across the marsh from an outdoor laser tag arena, very sloped and uneven site. We also didn’t have a fire ring until late in the evening (a very nice young man was doing his best, but he was alone and also running the laser tag). There are 2 restrooms - a boys and a girls, both were very dirty and girls didn’t have a door or curtain for the toilet. We did paddleboard and kayak a bit on the ‘lake’, but it was very small and much more like a pond than a lake. We had to drive to a place to put in. We explored “Larry’s Lair”, which was a short, uphill hike that ends at a cool rock outcrop. The site in the picture was the nicest site, there is a very loud generator running very close to it. We did end up having a nice time, but it’s not at all as advertised.
