Have you ever wanted to glamp in the middle of a rolling meadows?

Our cottage is nestled in the middle of our 140 acre organic farm. Only 45 minutes from downtown Columbus, OH. Our farm is 7 minutes from I-71 just outside of Fredericktown, Ohio. It's perfect, no interstate noise, but extremely accessible for the passing traveler.

The cottage is outfitted with a bed, kitchenette, solar electric battery for charging or running small appliances, and an outdoor shower. It has 1 queen bed, a loft with a single mattress, and room for a cot in the kitchenette. The basic amenities to make life sweet, but allows you to disconnect and recharge at the same time.

Come hungry. The cottage has a small kitchen and a smokeless fire ring perfect for grilling steaks, veggies, and your culinary dreams. Our farm store is stocked with wonderful grass fed beef, pork, chicken, eggs, and dairy!

The patio has a gorgeous view of both the sunrise and sunset, so settle in and enjoy the serenity of a natural ecosystem surrounding you at the cottage.

A Note on our farm store: We raise all of our meats here on the farm. We have them frozen fresh to preserve all of the flavor and nutrition. We recommend a complete thaw before cooking. If you are after a particular meal on your night of arrival, we can help you out by setting your cut in the fridge to thaw ahead of time.

If you're looking to have more than four in your party, you may pitch a tent beside the cottage. ( Tent not provided.)

We stayed here on Thanksgiving and it was wonderful! Jacob is so kind and helpful, and their farm store was a total treat. What REALLY made the trip magical for us and the kids was being able to see all the animals, though! So. Much. Fun. If you choose to stay during fall/winter though, just double check the weather for your dates so you can make sure to be there on a dry day! Totally recommend this awesome place.

My one-night stay at Sweet Grass was a wonderful experience. The setting was beautiful and the hosts were so gracious and engaging. Their passion for regenerative farming and the quality of the meat, dairy and baked products they produced was remarkable. I look forward to visiting again and I would highly recommend the stop-over to others.

Jacob was so tremendously helpful. The farm had a beautiful energy to it that made my friend and I’s stay deep and thoughtful. The views of the dew at night and the frost in the morning is somethin’ else. We bought so many goodies from the Farm Store! Popcorn, Sourdough Bread, Pumpkin Rolls, Pepper Jack Cheese, and probably more! Small and kind communities like this bring me hope and joy for people. Peace and love Jacob!

This was our second visit and it was even better than the first! Be prepared to spend the evening staring a the sky filled with stars and hear the sounds of the country. Make sure you take a walk and visit the farm store. What they are doing at this farm is not just sustainable , it's inspiring. I highly recommend!

The whole farm greets you...At night the stars are perfect for gazing, take your astronomy app and you'll be surprised how much more you can see when you're out of the city!Sometimes there is a traffic jam....could be cows...could be turkeys....you never know. The views at dawn and at dusk are breathtaking.

Unique stay. We loved staying on the farm. Absolutely beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The cabin was toasty with an added heater provided by the host and quilts. Our two year old slept like a champ our entire stay.

This is the perfect little get away from downtown. Jacob and his family created the best way to elevate your camping experience by proving a cozy bed (seriously, it was hard to leave it every morning) and kitchenette with running water. My pup and I only stayed for two days but plan on coming back again. Be sure to stock up on some goods from the store before you leave!

In most ways, I desire to keep this whole experience “our best kept secret” because the uniqueness and value in our stay. It’s the type of special living that should be preserved for those who too take heart in the care of the land, hard work, can honor the simplicity all at the foot of the hill resting in front of you. To stay here is to take away the distractions and sit back where wise traditions and nourishment are earned and valued. We give this sweet, simple cottage our raving review and gratitude for this is a place we could rest our heads as a family, feel safe, and leave restored in mind and attitude.

Even better than we anticipated (and we knew it would be GREAT!) Hosts are very friendly but leave you to it! Extremely private setting that I cannot recommend highly enough. It makes camping so much less of a hassle and since we encountered some rain, we didn't have to worry about wet gear, etc. BONUS: the livestock is a joy to watch as the cows are moving from pasture to pasture. The farm store is chock full of amazing meat, dairy, firewood, etc. Everything you need has been anticipated. Great for families, romantic weekend or even a girls trip. Take a tent along to expand the sleeping space.

Cows are moved from pasture to pasture and the parade is quite amusing! Dairy cows are very curious and friendly. The long view...you cannot see any other campsites and it's very private. Also, outhouse is just a few steps behind the cottage and not shared. (bonus!)Cows on their way back from milking in the morning.
