45 minutes from Columbus, Ohio! We sit 7 minutes off of I-71, but we never hear the highway. Our farm makes the perfect weekend escape from the big city or a great big breath of fresh air for the traveler coming by!

Rolling meadows with lots of privacy on a operating regenerative farm. Visit animals like never before. Experience peace and serenity among our secluded and private campsites.

As a working farm we also have a farm store with great hot dogs, brats and breakfast supplies that we raise right here in the farm.

Our farm is in constant grazing rotation. Sometimes specific sites are not available because the grass is several feet tall ready for grazing. We will provide a site with shorter grass. Rubber boots are a great item to bring along for hiking around and seeing morning chores on the farm.

Choose from one of 5 camp sites on the farm. All of them are set up in secluded locations away from each other.

Site 1. Woods Edge: Sits along our 8 acres of trees. Woods Edge provides a great view of the sunset. It sits at the furthest point from the farm house, but it is very accessible by vehicle most of the year.  This site has access to a primitive outhouse. Also great for larger gatherings.

Site 2. Riverside: This site over looks the Kokosing river. It is more remote and may require some hiking depending on soil condition. But don't let that scare you. If you like water or fishing this site would be perfect.

Site 3. The Grove: Easily accessible by all cars. The Grove has a wonderful sunset view and sits along a grove of tree. Easy access to a private outhouse and close access to the public restroom make The Grove a great location for those that want easy access to a camp site.

Site 4. The Shade Lot: If a beautiful sunset view is for you this site gives just that along with easy access to shade trees along the woods. this site is perfect for exploring the farm. Access to a primitivize out house is about 100 yds away. Access by vehicle is available most of the year.

Site 5. The Giant Oak: The farm has a gigantic oak tree. This site sits under it's huge span. If only trees could talk, but even with out the stories this site makes for a wonderful experience.  Site access requires a suv or a small hike. Either way it's worth the visit.

Recent update: We are now maintaining a path to the Kokosing river. The end of the path leads to a small gravel/sand bar along the river. Depending on the water height there are some great wading pools and play date opportunities.

A Note on our farm store: We raise all of our meats here on the farm. We have them frozen fresh to preserve all of the flavor and nutrition. We recommend a complete thaw before cooking. If you are after a particular meal on your night of arrival, we can help you out by setting your cut in the fridge to thaw ahead of time.

Wonderful host family--so kind, accommodating and passionate about sustainable agriculture. They have an incredible and beautiful farm operation with wide open space to select for your camp site. Their farm store with all of the goods harvested from their farm is open so you can purchase fresh meat for your campfire! We set up camp, hiked back to buy their brats, homemade yogurt, loaf of bread, and we had ourselves a great meal! They even provided us the aluminum foil to cook our brats. Wonderful place and wonderful family, definitely worth checking out for camping or your groceries!

My partner and I had such a wonderful time at Sweet Grass. Jacob was super kind, helpful and the location was both delightful and peaceful. The site is slightly more primitive than other HipCamps I’ve stayed at but seriously worth the stay due to the adorable animals, delicious yogurt and calming location. We will definitely be going back again soon 😊

Sweet Grass was exactly what camping should be. Jacob’s farm was awesome! The spot where we camped was super private. Our dogs loved the abundance of field space and the woods nearby. There was a distinct lack of mosquitoes on our trip! Definitely go to the on site farm store for fresh meat, eggs, and cheese for cooking on your fire.
We had a great time and can’t wait to come back.

Jacob was friendly and pleasant. Also, the camp store is great with a pretty large selection of delicious organic products. Our site was the furthest from the farmhouse and very private -we loved it. Our dogs are pretty well trained to stay nearby and we were able to let them off their leashes. It was a wonderful weekend.

Jacob the host was extremely friendly and helpful. The farm is absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. There is also a delightful farm store where you can buy fresh cheese, yogurt, and even kombucha. The camping site where we stayed was on a cow pasture and very primitive. The sunset and star gazing was absolutely beautiful. We will definitely be back!

We loved visiting the farm and camping on such a stunning property. The hosts are inspirational and clearly run their farm and hipcamp site with a lot of love. Their daughter Heidi was our tour guide and we loved seeing the animals with her in the morning! We bought delicious yogurt and eggs for breakfast and took a lot of goods home to enjoy too.
