We live on a small hobby farm in Ashland County with 4 cows (3 highlands and 1 jersey), a small goat herd with babies on the way, 8 kunekune pigs, 2 donkeys and 23 egg laying chickens. We have 2 ponds for you to enjoy, one is stocked with bass for fishing. (may keep one a day) We currently have three campsites. Campsite #1 is area that an rv or travel trailer can park next to a cemented covered pavillion. It could also be used for a tent. The pavillion is on a pond with a rocky beach and a firepit. Campsite #2 is for tents only or small teardrop type trailers. There is an elevated fire ring provided. Site #3 is a rustic tent only site in the woods with a fire ring. Firewood and firestarters are provided for all sites. We also have a clean porta potty for your use. We have 5 acres of property with lots of wildlife for you to enjoy. The ponds have tons of tadpoles and giant frogs for the kids to catch. We have seen many turtles and find babies sometimes in the spring. Geese and ducks visit our ponds often. Our farm animals are spoiled, love attention and being petted. If you would like treats for your stay we offer treat bags for the animals in the extras section. We offer fresh eggs available from our chickens for $3/dozen. There are lots of opportunities for outdoor activities nearby. Hurdle waterfowl park is just a few miles away which offers trails and wetland areas full of wildlife. We are about 10 minutes from Findley state park which offers trails, fishing, boating, wildflife and an amazing mountain bike trail which is great for kids all the way up to adults. We are right in the middle of amish country. Ashland and Wellington are both approximately a 15 min drive. We look forward to hosting you!We are a farm so there are animals, animal noises, bugs and such. We have one crowing rooster and some goofy goats who are sometimes loud. Our cows moo and our pigs oink, actually its more of a snort I suppose. Our pond bullfrogs serenade you at night. But we think its the sounds of paradise and if it sounds like that to you too then you will love being our guests.

Great weekend! Site is super cute, porta-potty is nice and clean. Having the animals so close is super fun! Listening to the cows mooing, the goats bleating, and the donkey hee-hawing brought a smile to everyone’s face each time. The area is clean and it is nice to have the fire pit and benches. The ponds are pretty and the land is well kept. However, just be aware you will literally be right in someone’s backyard….like 100-150ft from the owner’s house. We felt a little awkward. The hosts are extremely nice and accommodating. It is hard to tell just how close you are from the pictures. We felt like we were hiding in the camper rather than outside as much as we would have been in a more secluded area. We may just be weird though🤔, so definitely not removing any stars due to our discomfort. We all really enjoyed hanging out with the animals and giving them treats. Hosts were great!
Nine people including 5 kids ages 3-10. We all had a great time! The kids really enjoyed the animals and everyone enjoyed fishing at the ponds. The owner and her daughter were very nice and accommodating.
Great place for young children
Great place for kids! Well kept, happy animals make for a memorable experience. Site 1 has a large shelter which makes everything easy. Fire pit is large and well constructed. Playground gives kids lots to do. Higjlhly recommended for families with young children.
Lovely campsite and farm
My wife and I stayed at Broken Road Farm with our two boys, 4 years old and 2 years old. Our boys loved seeing the animals at the farm and cooking over the campfire. Lots of ways to stay entertained for a family or to just sit and relax by the pond and enjoy the sounds of nature.
Our stay was excellent. Thank you for allowing us to enoy your farm. Everything was clean and we really enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend a stay here. We will be back.
A little farm paradise!
What a wonderful place to stay! This was my first time going anywhere in my new-to-me motorhome, and I couldn't have chosen a better place. Everything was just perfect down to the smallest detail, and I enjoyed talking to Jodie and her family while I was there. Such nice people.
My site was right by a pond, and there's a pavilion with a table and chairs, as well as an area with stools that looks directly onto the pond. The ideal place for a morning cup of coffee. The farm animals were so cute and fun to watch! Who knew there were so many varieties of chickens? My site was fairly close to the owner's home, but not close enough to be intrusive.
I will definitely go back to Broken Road Farm in my future travels, even though it IS only an hour from home!
Highly recommend -animals great fun
Our first time booking on Hipcamp, my husband & I had a great time at Broken Road Farm! Visiting & feeding the animals was the highlight, in addition to enjoying the scenery & wonderful property. We stayed at Site#1 in our Pop up camper & slept great. Be sure to Add on the animal treats for the most fun. All 3 sites were booked when we stayed, but there is plenty of room for everyone. Lots to enjoy without having to leave the property. Very pet friendly.
We absolutely loved staying at campsite 3! It’s secluded enough to feel like you’re alone in the woods though you are right behind the farm. The camp area was large and clean, plenty of wood, clean porta pot, and the cutest animals to visit with! A great stay and was perfect for the weekend away.
