What an amazing place to get away and enjoy the forest! We were greeted upon arrival by the neighbor Keith and his wife. Keith helped us transport our equipment to and from the camp site and was extremely friendly. We purchased firewood and fresh eggs that their chickens laid. The bath house was clean and comforting, nice to get a hot shower at night. Our kids especially enjoyed hanging out with the farm cat ‘Cupcake’ and the other little animals around. We can’t recommend this place enough, and we can’t wait to come back!
Thanks Ross for having us, and thanks Keith for your hospitality.
My friends and I had a wonderful time at this campsite. It is quiet and a two minute walk to the nearest trails. Ross was very accommodating shuttling us up and down the hill during our stay. There are also some very nice finished bathrooms at the base of the campsite that were a very to have. All in all we intend to come back for future visits!
10/10 would recommend. This site was perfect for us. Our party was two families with children. We didn’t have to worry about the kids being too loud to disturb neighbors and felt comfortable enough to let the older kids walk to the pond and fish. The hosts were so incredibly nice and accommodating. Aside from helping us up the hill with all our stuff, they went out of their way to help my son bandage his knees after he took a spill on his bike. Then they brought him up the hill to us in their UTV.! All in all, lots of peace and quiet (you know, aside from our own children), but close enough to OU and Hocking to make quick trips “in”. We are already talking about coming back in the Fall and look forward to riding at Bailey’s when we do.
Camping with the family!
Bailey's site#1 - This place was awesome! This is the only camping site available on the hill and is very clean, green, private, yet perfect for a group to spread out. My kids ages 6-11 were able to run around and play and explore nature without me being worried about them.
Because the site is at the top of a steep hill and parking is at the bottom, motorized transportation via a gator upon arrival and departure were 100% essential with all the camping gear. (which was provided)
I was pleasantly surprised to find a newly remodeled full bathroom at the bottom of the hill that Ross has for his guests. It's the nicest BR you'll ever have camping. (It's worth noting that it's about 100-150 yards up-down the steep hill from the campsite. So, I'd suggest having something figured out at your camp so that challenging hike is saved for only the most needed BR trips.)
In summary, it perfectly fit the bill for what I was looking for. I'd certainly camp there again. (Verizon get's 1-2 bars of reception at the top of the hill) Ross was great to work with. Very friendly, helpful and quick to respond to texts.
Peaceful camping trip. ☺️
We loved camping at Baileys! Not only were Ross and Keith very kind and responsive, their land was very clean and secluded. Just what we were looking for! There was only two of us camping at the top of the hill, but there was certainly room for many more. Next time we will bring our friends.
Had a great time and location is great. The property backs right up to the Wayne NF and is walking distance to Bullfrog loop and Holler Collar trailheads for the Baileys MTB trails.
Great little campground that’s in close proximity to Baileys Trail System! You can even ride your bike to the trailhead which is only 2 miles away. Had a great experience and will definitely come back!
