The entire property is oriented toward private farmland views and surrounding mountains. It's really quite remarkable to be so accessible yet feel so remote.

NOTE:  Tent camping and small rv camping, at more remote sites, is available through our alternate listing, Smoky Mtn Mangalitsa River Camp,  at a rate of $35/ night.

Several campsite options exist for tent, car, van, motorcycle and RV camping. We are a 95 acre working farm raising the wooly Mangalitsa pig on a half mile of river that offers serenity in a pocket of wilderness 1 mile off of I40. The property is rolling pasture with forest stands, three streams as well as trails and farm roads for hikes leading to 360 vistas. Four horses, two adopted burros and six goats round out the charm.

HOW TO FIGURE YOUR NIGHTLY RATE

The per night rate is for each vehicle and we charge for EVERY vehicle that is in your group. Rates are higher on the weekends.

Each vehicle grants the admission of four campers. Extra persons beyond four (in one vehicle) are $5/person per night.

If your group has two vehicles this grants you 8 guests.

Additional person fees apply when you exceed the number allotted per vehicle.  Select a $5 fee for each person for each night.  For example, 2 extra people for 3 nights is a total of $30.

EXAMPLE

Vehicle 1 for two nights (at $45/night) with 4 campers = $90

Vehicle 2 for two nights (at $45/night) with 5 campers $90plus (one extra person staying two nights)  $5 plus $5 = $$100

Booking Total for this example = $190

If you have questions i.e.. Infants, extra cars, groups of teenagers etc. Please DO NOT HESITATE to ask Catherine directly. We assure you we aim to please.

Checking in before 5pm is requested. Later times may be available with prior arrangement. Our farm is very dark and navigating at night is difficult. Please contact Catherine directly so we can check you in safely and accommodate your schedule.

Site 1 ROCKS is the main riverside campsite and is located just past the four-board horse pasture.  This area hosts our "Game of Thrones" firepit, flat grass areas, picnic table and options for shade and sun. Cooking outdoors is a snap with our dedicated fire-ring topped with a stainless steel grate. Charcoal works very well.

This site is pictured in the background of the photo with three horses in the pasture. Gravel leads to this site and it accommodates RV's, cars, motorcycles and multiple tents.  Great for a large group.  Back in to the site~ we think a trailer of more than 30' may have a bit of difficulty, but it can be done.  Your call!

Site 2 THE KNOLL is a flat raised site that overlooks Site 1.  This is a favorite for RVs as the views of the area farms, the glow of the fire and the sounds of the river below make for a mesmerizing setting.  This is a flat knoll (that is high on the right side of the picture with the three horses)  that will require minimum leveling. Gravel leads to this site.

Site 3 SHOOTING RANGE is nestled in a grass pasture bordered by the Dawn Branch creek and the river.  A large adjacent bamboo stand provides deep cool shade and the open air shooting range structure provides a covered deck and table surfaces to set up camp. This site is across the creek and gravel road from a few pig paddocks but we assure you there are very few animals in these pens; certainly not enough to create an unpleasant experience.

We have a livestock guardian dog named Stetson on property that roams freely to ward off coyotes and other predators   He is a very large, sweet and friendly dog that we rescued two years ago. He will come say hello but shouldn’t be a nuisance to you. Please refrain from hugging him or grabbing his collar as he was abused in his early years.  He will happily redecorate your campsite should you leave your garbage out. (Smiling) Please don’t hesitate to contact us if he’s a nuisance.

YOUR DOG MUST BE ON LEASH AT ALL TIMES PLEASE. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR DOG'S WELFARE AND WE APPRECIATE YOUR UNDERSTANDING.

Drift Club is a beautiful spot to camp and Catherine is a great host. I stayed at spot #1 which is right alongside the river. The views of the river and the hills on the opposite side are amazing. The campsite is a great spot to relax or you can venture off and go for a hike on the farm. The ground is fairly level, getting in and out was really easy and it's only about 30min from Ashville. We will definitely be heading back!

This place is a magical and peaceful slice of heaven! Beautiful views with the calming sounds of the river. Seeing the Mangalista pigs living a happy sun kissed life on the hill was a true joy. This is a pure mountain paradise! We rebooked our second stay within 24hrs of arriving. Exceptionally friendly and hospitable hosts, adorable piglets, and nature’s beauty in every direction. 11/10, highly recommend.

Worth the 15 hour drive pulling our 24 foot (29 tongue to bumper). Our family was absolutely amazed by the gerous hospitality of the owners. The sound of the running river will give you the best night sleep and definitely deadened the sound of hour invertor generator. If we could do it again, we would've stayed for at least 4 nights instead of 2. Our 2 kids were in awe of the beauty we got to experience. Look to the sky and maybe you'll be as lucky as us and see eagles flying around.
We have 1 bug regret on this trip, not purchasing meat from the hosts. We are plant based but are kicking oursleves for not buying a ham for family at Easter and bacon for our friends

We hope to make it back and make many more great memories.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the farm over the weekend of 4/3/21. Our stay was nothing short of amazing. Her and I have been doing lots of camping in NC, TN, and VA mtns over the past three years. This was hers and mine favorite spot. You have sweeping views of the mountains, along with the beautiful pigeon river. Usually you can have one or the other, but having both was truly special. Catherine and her husband are very helpful before your arrival with all instructions and are super friendly. If your worried about the farm aspect you can hardly tell it’s there. Was very neat to walk around and see the furry little pigs. Would highly recommend staying here. Plan to come back in warmer weather to tube down the pigeon river. Cheers

Response from Catherine and Rick, the Host, on June 28th, 2021

Indeed warm weather is finely here and tubing is a blast! Thank you Tyler for taking the time to write a review and share your insights of your stay. Our little farm really has so much to offer; I like to say there are several experiences to enjoy within the 95 acres. You have a lot of experience camping in this region so we are especially thrilled to hear how much you liked it here! We hope you will return soon and wish you a wonderful summer!

Stay here!!! The land is beautiful- we stayed in the knoll. There is a fire pit, the stars are out at night and loved listening to the river. It was an easy park for our camper- we did it in the dark (30 foot) and the owners are awesome... We got so many recommendations for places to hike and eat- it's an easy hour drive to the Smokies, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Asheville. We found a great brewery to eat at nearby in Maggie Valley. Stetson (their dog) was so sweet, our boys loved him. There is zero smell- surprising for a pig farm- but it was very clean and the pigs were cute :) We bought bacon, sausage links, jowels and bratwurst- all soooo good. We had a blast here and stayed for 10 days. We would absolutely go back for another trip.

Anne, thank you so much for your in depth and generous review! You and your family are amazing! So active, personable and fun! Thank you for booking with us and patronizing our farm pork sales as your support directly helps sustain our farm. I'm pretty sure you know the area better than we do! Hope you will return and camp with us again soon. Have a wonderful summer!

Wow, absolutely beautiful place to camp! We stayed at the #1 ROCKS site. It was very spacious. Loved that we could drive right up to the spot, yet still be remote. The river is beautiful, perfect for fishing, swimming and nice white noise to sleep to. Our kids explored, fished and swam for hours.
Stetson (their farm dog) was so sweet. He came for a visit 1-2 times a day and was not a nuisance in the least. We loved having him around!
Do not miss waling up to the top of the property. Catherine and Rick have 2 very nice adirondack chairs up there and the view is spectacular. We hiked up with a picnic and drinks at sunset. One of my favorite parts of the trip.
The porta potty was sparkling clean and conveniently located.
We will definitely be back. Highly recommend!!!

This place is just amazing! We stayed at the site closer to the river, which is nicely secluded by the rolling hills on one side and the river on the other. While the weather was not the greatest (too cold and windy!), this did not stop us from enjoying our stay and the surrounding area. We had a great time spending time by the fire and by the river. Catherine (our host) welcomed us when we arrived and took us to our site and explained some of the main rules. We were also very happy to try some some of the farm product, mainly bacon and a sample of all sausages available (chorizo was our favorite by far). We just regret not having purchase more pork! If we are ever in the area, we would definitely like to stay again at the Drift Club.
