When you think about camping, does your mind automatically think of a tent and a fire? Or is it more of an RV in a campground? Do you have arguments of whether or not your way of “sleeping outside” is actually camping? Well, opinions of all kinds obviously exist, but it’s true: camping exists in many forms. So whether you’re a newbie to camping and you don’t know where to start, or you’re a seasoned pro looking for inspiration, here are some kinds of camping to get you started on your next getaway. To backcountry camp, you generally have to go somewhere inaccessible from roads. It can be a mile away from the trailhead or somewhere in the middle of a mountain range during a weeklong trek. The point is you’re away from civilization. You pack in what you can carry, are never without a Swiss Army Knife, and (hopefully) pack out all of your waste and leave everything looking as good (or better) than when you came.

What a lovely campground. I had the opportunity to stay here for 3 nights. It is up a twisty mountain road. The sites back up to beautiful trout creek. The camp host was very helpful at checking in and helping me get the trailer backed in. They sale fire wood at the office so no need to bring any from home. I will definitely go back and stay again, only next time I’ll stay longer.

It was a beautiful, well-maintained campground. We’re new to camping with an RV and they were happy to help us back our camper in. The bathhouse was nice and clean and they offered wi-if and trash disposal.

As mentioned by other campers, the only negative is the drive in/out on a mostly one lane road was nerve-racking, but it will not stop us from camping here again. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at Trout Creek Campgrounds and
Tony was welcoming, pleasant, and knowledgeable host.Great sites on the bold creek with10 or so waterfalls on Trout Creek Road. It was easy to negotiate with our diesel pusher and toad. We’ll be back and many thanks to Tony and the his team. We left feeling we made new, long lasting friends!…. Dan and Sally

Our visit to Trout Creek was absolutely WONDERFUL!
Mr. Owens and his brother did everything they could to make sure our visit was comfortable.
The site is amazing. We parked right next to a flowing stream and had access to over 600 acres of hiking trails.
I dropped my hook in the water hoping to catch a Trout, but even though I didn't the calmness of the act was reward enough.
I would HIGHLY recommend visit this amazing RV camp, You will not regret it.
We will be back!

It was a larger camp than I expected., but the sites were pretty level. I would camp along the creek next time, as there's less water on those sites. Ours got pretty soggy from rain. The hosts were exceptionally friendly and helpful. There's alot of recreational vehicle trails there. We toted our mororcycle in and ride a few times. The road in is a bit rough but we managed just fine. We would stay there again.

This is a great spot. They take really good care of the place. The creek is a prominent feature and the best sites run alongside it. It’s a campground so there will likely be both RVs and tents in close proximity to you. None of the sites are private per say but the site sizes are adequate and you can make your space your own. The hosts and everyone we met were very friendly and welcoming. Was impressed by the number of full hookups electric and water. Bathrooms available and clean. Great stop on our trip and will be back sometime I am sure.

A beautiful place in the mountains! The sites were very close together and the showers were closed because of COVID, but other than that it was lovely.
