This place was peaceful and quiet. It's exactly what was needed. I've been to alot of hipcamps and this one had the easiest drive in as well as the most level parking. Having a real bathroom was a huge plus! The location is great, there are tons of hiking areas close by. The host made sure to make recommendations on trails and they were all fantastic. Will be back!

If you’re looking for a peaceful, chill place to use as a home base while you explore the Smoky Mountains, this place is for you. The yurt was super special, comfy and dare I say spiritual. Liz was a great host - very helpful and gave me great advice on hikes and things to see in the area. I would definitely stay here again!

Liz was very welcoming and helpful, and the entire Heart Center was lovely! She checked in on us frequently and made sure we had everything we needed. Liz also invited us to participate in a fire ceremony, which was very educational.

Our yurt was really cute and comfy. We enjoyed the shared spaces (such as the gym, cafe, and labyrinth) and the natural surroundings.

My friend and I stayed at the Highland Yurt this past weekend. We had such a wonderful time on the premises, and hiking all the beautiful spots nearby. This area of the country truly is magical! Liz was an amazing host. She loaned me some key items I forgot, invited me to a truly wonderful meditation time in the morning, and spent many hours in deep conversation. She is a true teacher and healer and I am grateful to have spent time with her. Her space shows the love and vision she has and I will definitely be back. Thank you so much Liz!

Magical is a great word to describe our experience at the heart center. My husband and I came to relax and connect with nature before we have our baby and it met all our expectations plus more. Liz is a beautiful soul who has poured her love into the land and it truly shows. You can feel the peace and good energy the moment you pull up. The yurt was cozy and all of the buildings on the were lovely. If you’re looking for an amazing place in nature to unplug and find peace this is the space for you! Would highly recommend! We will be back!

We had a wonderful time staying at The Heart Center, and found the yurts really comfortable. Liz was a truly welcoming, hospitable, and communicative host. She gave us lots of tips for nearby hiking and site seeing and was super knowledgeable about the history of the surrounding area. We would love the chance to come back in the warmer months for another adventure in the NC wilderness and relaxation at The Heart Center.

Highly recommend!!

Oh boy, it does not get better than The Heart Center for the very modest fee Liz charges. The scenery is staggering, obviously, and you'll spend most of your time just staring open-mouthed at the majesty surrounding you. We set up a little craft table and spent a day painting the scenery, playing our guitars, and disconnecting in a place this agnostic can only describe as "holy".
That alone made our stay a privilege, but the generous amenities and thoughtful touches everywhere that make you feel so welcome puts this place over the top. We stayed in the Highlander yurt and were greeted with snacks, extra blankets, a little heater and plenty of fresh mountain water. The bathroom was about 50 feet away and super tidy, well-ventilated. There was this crazy gym there with tons of equipment, so we spent some time just shooting free throws and hitting tennis balls, being goofy and getting some exercise. There's also a lovely little cafe on the premises and while it wasn't operating because of Covid, she still had coffee and little snacks, wifi, board games, and a stereo with some CDs for enjoying some mountain music. We thought it was the sweetest little setup, very peaceful and pleasant. DEFINITELY above and beyond what we were expecting for the rate.
I worked in hospitality in New Orleans for years and so I'm extra appreciative of people who demonstrate that warmth and care in their work. Liz for sure is one of those people who elevates hospitality to an art form.
11 out of 10, would book again!! Thanks, Liz!

A beautiful, magical place tucked away into the North Carolina mountains. The Heart Center is true to its name. The stars at night bring you back to yourself and connect you to the rest of everything. I was lucky enough to join a morning meditation with Liz and engage her about this lovely space. I recommend it to all whom are seeking a peaceful place to come back to your Heart Center. Thank you for having me here. I look forward to all you do and to all whom are touched by this space.
