About 100 yards opposite the camp site is a treehouse with a fire pit table. Just a perfect spot to enjoy your coffee in the morning or read a book in the afternoon.
There is a beautiful waterfall within walking distance. Bring your fishing poles and fish standing in the river, or let us help you book a fly-fishing trip with our friends nearby. Enjoy a day tubing with ZALOOS with the drop off right around the corner. For those that want to be a little more low key, we have one canoe, two kayaks and four tubes on site, or just take a hike up the hill directly behind your tent which is part of the New River conservancy.
The NEW RIVER STATE PARK is a short car ride away and offers beautiful hiking trails, boat launch or pick up, and public amenities, including showers. Take a day and travel to breathtaking views at Mt. Jefferson State Park, or the Blue Ridge Parkway or discover the charming town of West Jefferson with restaurants and boutique shopping. The amazing Grayson Highlands, featuring the wild ponies, is only 45 minutes away. So many places to explore and get back to nature during your stay on the NEW!

Site is on the side of a private dirt road. Camping right on the river was delightful. The picnic table, 2 small tables and sink set up made it much easier to unpack. Explored down the road to Nana Falls and the tree house deck. Such a great place to camp with our teenagers. The hosts were fantastic and we will be back for sure - next time when it's warm enough to kayak.

I hammock camped solo at Steve and Leslie’s 2 nights this weekend. The site is as close to the river as you can get. It includes a fire pit, chairs, picnic table, solar shower sink and porter John. There is a dirt road by the campsite with very little traffic but it didn’t bother than me. A quarter mile down the road there is a beautiful waterfall called Nana Falls. Steve was kind enough to shuttle me 2x so I could kayak the New River. If you’re looking for an easy to access camping spot that isn’t a campground and has river access look no further. There is also a really cool tree house you have access to as well! Give Steve’s property a chance if you love the outdoors!
This was a BEAUTIFUL spot to camp! Our family loved it and had so much fun. My kids loved swinging and playing on the tree house. The sound of the river at night while going to bed and when waking in the morning was delightful! (It’s not loud at all but just so peaceful sounding) We had a toddler with us so I got worried when it was dark since we were so close to the water but we made it work. The location is remote as it’s far down a dirt road but there are houses along the road. Steve’s is the first one we saw once we were on the dirt road but there are houses beyond his and across the way. There’s only one you can see across the River from the camping spot and Steve’s house is down the road so the location is private but you may run into some people along the way- all were friendly and welcoming. We will definitely return in the future!!
Steve’s property is gorgeous and filled with fun things to do!
This site was awesome! Host was very cool and super friendly. I was really taken back by how nice it was, Porta John was very clean, they had kindling ready for us and extra supplies you might need. The spot on the river is breathtaking if that’s your thing. Didn’t catch any smallmouth but we will be back to try again. Our favorite HipCamp spot thus far.

Such a cool site!!! Decided to try out the new A-frame on property as well, if you’re hesitant just do it! Host is very helpful and friendly and had everything one could need on site. Great time!

Steve and his wife are amazing host. The camp site is truly breath taking and so peaceful. Had alittle trouble getting there instead of going by the coordinates just type in the address and it will take you right there. They have 3 sweet pups you can pet probably the sweetest dogs I’ve ever met. This place is a must we will definitely be coming back!
Steve and Lesley were excellent hosts and extremely hospitable. The location was peaceful and we enjoyed meeting their dogs. We’ll definitely be back in the future.
