Due to mountain terrain driving, we do not recommend class "A" motor coaches or large toy haulers. All roads are paved to our graveled driveway.
Sorry there is no tent camping available.
If you have a pop up then make sure you have a porta potty, we may ask to see one. Sorry we have no restroom!
Note: It is suggested that class "C" RV's bring or rent a vehicle because parking can be limited due to others during the tourist season and especially on the weekends. We are very isolated. They have limited inventories and a high demand during all seasons.Because we are a smaller campground and the sites are different sizes we can not guarantee your site selection you chose while making your reservation request. This tiny campground (5 sites currently) is secluded away from the hustle and bustle. Full hookups are kind of the “holy grail” when we are searching for campsites, and that was what first brought us here. We’ve been back for two more week long visits since then however, just because it’s a great place to enjoy peace and tranquility while my husband works from our campsite. This is a perfect mountain retreat to recharge your batteries. We also loved that our dogs were allowed off leash since other campers were not present.
We had a wonderful time at Sky High Ridge campground! Peter was a lovely and generous host. He walked us around the campground and helped us select the perfect site for our camper. He even shared some of his smoked turkey and sides one afternoon as he and his friends were having a post-Thanksgiving get together. All and all this was the perfect spot for us! Quiet, clean, great views and close to all the mountain activities that you could ever want or need. We will be back sooner then later! Thank you!
Beautiful location! Peter was a generous host and had lots of good recommendations for things in the area. His campground was well maintained and he was adding some new sites with some decks which will be great. Some of the sites are small but he makes sure you get a good one based on your needs. Would definitely stay here again!
Great little campground! Beautiful location, free firewood, and was nice and quiet the week we were there. Our dogs loved walking the trails through the garden. Peter, our host, was great and very knowledgeable about the area.
Great camping in wnc and nga
Beautiful campsites with mature trees and plenty of privacy. We enjoyed walking the grounds and the boat had plenty of firewood available. We use the camp as a great base to explore everything around and between Franklin, Highlands, Cashiers and Clayton
Hidden jewel atop scaly mountain
Sky High Ridge was a real find for us. It’s a hidden jewel on top of Scaly Mountain, NC in a gorgeous, peaceful neighborhood. It’s about a 30 minute drive to Highlands, NC and within an easy drive of countless hiking and bike trails. Peter our host is full of good information about the locale and was incredibly helpful for just about everything else. This will be a home away from home for us for sure.
