Due to mountain terrain driving, we do not recommend class "A" motor coaches or large toy haulers. All roads are paved to our graveled driveway.
Sorry there is no tent camping available.
If you have a pop up then make sure you have a porta potty, we may ask to see one. Sorry we have no restroom!
Note: It is suggested that class "C" RV's bring or rent a vehicle because parking can be limited due to others during the tourist season and especially on the weekends. We are very isolated. Rentals (Enterprise Car Rentals) are available in Franklin, NC about 20 miles away. Make reservations as soon as possible. They have limited inventories and a high demand during all seasons.

If you truly enjoy the wilderness but still like the convenience of electric and sewer hookups, this is the place to be. It is located on top of the mountain with an open view all around. The location is still close enough to all of the small general stores and the many activities and adventures that surround the mountain side, overlooking the valleys. The owner's have set this site up for the campers that like to enjoy their privacy and at the same time, having all of the amenities and convenience. I highly recommend this camp site year-round bar none! The camp site host is very helpful, friendly, accommodating and makes you feel right at home!
I probably should run this place down so to keep it to myself, but no this is a place that I must pass on to you all.if you can handle taking your vehicle up steep grades with breathtaking views, it's well worth the stay.garden, apple trees, black berry, blue berry, wild flowers next to site, more stars at night (no city lights) .so quiet I was given to closing my door's softly as not to brake the moment.the Host Peter is all you would need and want in in a host, friendly, knowledgeable of area and life in general! Might ask him to bring out the fiddle.last but not least 60s at night and no mosquitoes.

Wonderful host and secluded campground. Close to sky valley and great trails. Would definitely recommend!
Very private. Feels like we were alone on a hilltop. Cool views. Very bare bones site. Easy pull through spot. Free firewood. Laid back vibe. Good proximity to local attractions, esp aerial park! Great host!
Staying at Sky High Ridge almost felt like a luxury. You have not only full electric/water hookups, but also, sewer too! That means nice warm showers after adventuring all day. As long as you don’t mind the mountain drive, you can visit the scenic drive or any of the small towns near by. There are plenty of outdoor activities to do near the location as well. Peter was super nice. He offered suggestions of near by things to do along with checked in to make sure we were doing ok. We definitely saved this one to revisit again!

Very simple RV campground. No bathhouse (as expected), but water, electric, and sewer were modern and worked great. Sites are fairly close, but still felt pretty private. There are steep roads required to get to the campground and some fairly tight maneuvers within the campground, so beware of winter weather and big rigs, respectively.
Great views through the trees after the leaves have fallen, and very convenient to Sky Valley, Dillard, or Clayton. Our site had a picnic table, and fires were allowed, but it would have been nice to have fire rings to prevent fires from potentially spreading.
Host (Peter) was responded quickly, was very friendly, and was very accommodating.
In short, we loved this simple mountain top spot! We’ll be back!
What a well run and invested place! We had the place all to ourselves. It was our first time in a RV motorhome and we weren't aware that the spot is perhaps not the best to be in a large RV, specially not having a car to be able to tour around. Even with that handicap, the host - Peter Gross - was an AMAZING host, caring for us way beyond his responsibilities.
Thank God for him and his utmost care of us!! We had a most wonderful time! Thank you thank you thank you.
This is now one of my favorite places to camp! Located right on the top of the mountain! It’s nice, wooded, and private. 20 min from nice restaurants, even found a farm to table brunch place! (Highlands) Peter, the host, is amazing! He is kinda and helpful. He had recommendations for zip lines, tubing, restaurants, water falls and more. He called around for us and found dry firewood with prices. He went above and beyond! We will be back here very soon!!
This was the perfect getaway from the covid-19 craziness! We had the place to ourselves, our site had a beautiful view of the mountains during the day and the stars at night, and Peter was a great host. He is very knowledgable about the area and pointed us in the direction of some wonderful hikes very close to the campground. He also had lots of suggestions for restaurants and area attractions, although nothing was open due to coronavirus.
The trees were just starting to bud out when we were there, and I'm sure it will be beautiful in summer and fall.
