Quaint, farm atmosphere was awesome! Loved being around all the animals (dogs, chickens, goats). The owners were extremely friendly, especially to my dog.
Would recommend being very cautious with large trailers or RVs. It is a steeper incline to the camping area, and could be difficult to maneuver. My RAV4 has a lower clearance, and I felt just comfortable with my 12 ft trailer (granted I am new to towing).
Two thumbs up! We rolled in late in the evening in our camper van after booking last minute, and Shanais greeted us with a smile and was very helpful. Great place to crash for the evening!
Not a good experience
This is a lovely place and the people seem lovely. However, there is no electric hook up for a RV as advertised. They simply have regular outlets under their barn that you can plug your cell charger or whatever you need into. Also, this is NOT RV friendly- we have a 36ft Class A snd we could not turn around here and the RV was stuck for 4 hours and we paid $100 to have a tow company pull it out. They told me no RV should go there! It’s a nice place for regret camping, but at the same time there’s a lot of nice places for tent camping all over the place up here. If you want a farm vibe with privacy, this is a beautiful place. For us, it was not a good experience. Very sweet people though. I don’t like leaving a bad review, I just feel it’s necessary. (I did get a refund though) .
Near the blue ridge parkway
Host was very welcoming, and property is well maintained for the most part. Grassy, narrow field could get muddy after a downpour. Drove our 4Runner with a RTT onto the field with no problem. However, there is an obstacle near the entrance (corner of a roof), which may deter a wider vehicle onto the property. Overall nice spot and intuitive host!
Hands down one of the best places to stay in NC mountains- close to great hiking, waterfalls, and all outdoor activities, near enough to civilization to enjoy an evening. Shanais and family were great hosts! They made every effort to make sure we were comfortable at the site and that we had what we needed; very much like a good waiter who fills your every need but you never really notice him! We will definitely be back!
Shanais' place is amazing. She is so welcoming and made sure we had everything needed. Extremely private on the property and the tractor barn was great for when the rain came in. beautiful part of the country. highly recommended
