Sit on the 12x16 deck, overlook the creek, listen to the sounds of the woods as the night rolls in. This unique and primitive site includes many essential items and amenities:  two camping hammocks, (each with mosquito netting, a rain fly, and an under quilt to insulate against cold weather) as well as a dry kitchen. This includes a Coleman Stove, grill for the fire ring cookware, eating utensils, as well as other odds and ends. You barely need to pack a thing!

The 12 x 16 deck overlooks the wetland below. Sit and relax among the trees as you listen to the babbling brook! Set up your own tent and sleep under the trees.

Follow the path down the steep incline, where you will have access to the mountain stream. Pump the fresh mountain spring water at the spring box and use it for washing, doing dishes, cooking etc. There is also and a gravity fed water filtration system so everyone can get potable water. Ever try a slack line? It stretches across a wet land, just for fun. Don't get your feet wet!

Even if you are an inexperienced camper, this is a great opportunity to develop a new skill. Come and try it out.

We are located in Moravian Falls, NC about 15 minutes from hwy 421.

Please bring hiking boots/shoes. The slopes around the site need shoes that grip.

LOCAL ACTIVITIES:  to the west is the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is about 30 minutes away.  15 minutes away is Kerr Scott Dam where you can rent kayaks, pontoon boats, (as well as other sporting equipment), and fish. There is a great mountain biking trail, as well as hiking trails.

Prayer Mountain is right up the road.

Heading east, you can find several fine wineries and vineyards that you can visit. There is also a moonshine distillery in town.  About a half hour away is the Amish community that has several businesses open to the public, including the Shiloh Bakery and General Store. They are closed on Sunday and Monday.

To the northeast, about 45 minutes away, is Stone Mountain. Absolutely fantastic hiking, it is also an old homestead that has been renovated and is open to the public.

To the south, there is Rocky Face Park, where there is hiking and rock climbing. 30 minutes away, is Emerald Hollow Mine, where you can walk in the river, find and keep, precious gems. There is also a great disk course, Highland Hills Disc Golf Course, one of the top 25 in the country.

Merlefest (September 16-19, 2021), a world class Bluegrass festival, is located right in our town.

There is fun for all ages.

The area is awesome. The hammock camping site is cool and overlooks the rest of the property. My kids loved it here!

This was a very fun spot for my 5-yo and I to stay - I would say it would be great for older kids to explore on their own, I had to supervise my little one on the ropes and slopes, but we still had a blast!

Your family are obviously well seasoned campers. I love seeing that. Potential guests should take your review to heart, when it cold, dress properly. And by all means, wear boots. Thank you for your thoughtful review.

Elizabeth has carved out a nice getaway spot! The hammock tent was comfortable (and kept me dry even though it thunderstormed all night.) She has provided practically everything you would need to go camping, so it's a great site for someone who wants to camp but doesn't want to buy all of the supplies. This site is far enough away from the cabin and the tree tent that you have privacy, but there is a common area at the bottom of the hill next to the creek where you could hang out with a group if you booked all 3 sites. Elizabeth was very friendly and welcoming, and took time to show me around the site when I got there. It's truly even nicer than I expected! The parking area is well marked with cute signs. I am looking forward to going back!

Where do I start? This was a get away with my daughter, who’s 13 and she’s a scout so the hammock camping was a great and different place for us to spend quality time together. We loved it! Elizabeth was great, gave us a tour of the sites including the other 2 she owns - which are beautiful as well, explained how everything worked and took us to her property so my daughter could she her farm animals.
Very convenient!!! We barely had to pack major items with us because she offers a lot of the stuff we otherwise will have to bring with us. For example-the kitchen area!!!
My husband and little one are so jealous of our precious time we’re already looking at the calendar to go back!! Thank you Elizabeth!!!!

This site is a lot of fun! My girlfriend and I were looking for a quick outdoor getaway without much gear or prep work required, and this was a perfect match for us. Elizabeth and her husband are awesome hosts who have put in a ton of work to equip the site with everything you need, for an experience that is still rustic and authentic without being so primitive that some bad weather or inexperience can ruin your trip.

You don't need to bring much more than bedding, food, dry firewood, and a lighter, but come prepared to get rained on! Bring some extra dry clothes, towels, and most importantly, good athletic shoes you don't mind getting muddy. The whole site is on a steep embankment and when it rains it can be very slippery! But you can still have a great time here in the rain if you bring the proper clothing and wear comfy clothing. The hammocks are totally rain resistant and surprisingly comfy to sleep in.

Loved the experience, loved the friendly, furry visitors, and am very grateful to the hosts. Great deal too!

This was my first experience hammock camping and it was great! My and my gear stayed totally dry despite a rainy night. The site was well supplied, private, and our hosts were very welcoming. We cooked dinner over the fire pit and even had a visit from a very friendly neighbor dog!

The weather did not cooperate and rained all night but we stayed nice and dry in our hammocks. The rain pattering on the tarp was like a lullaby. The camp had everything we needed except food and bedding, and the owner brought us dry firewood to cook our dinner on. The toilet was just fine. The camp is new and they are still working on fixing it up, but it was very nice already. Despite the weather I am glad we went, and I hope to make another visit in the fall when The sky is clear and we can take the rain tarps off and sleep under the stars!
