We are a real working farm..not a hobby or glamcamp site. If you want privacy, we have it through walk in on Rocky Creek or back in the woods. We have real farm animals and do real farm work. We have 6 camp sites available--two with car camping/RV access, or tent. Four with tent only, hike in. All sites offer different ranges of privacy and none of them is near any other campers. We are open to short-term camping (the hike ins) and short-term or longer term. Site 2 is booked through the summer. One walk in tent site booked May and through the summer.
We are in farm country about 15 minutes to the Yadkin Wine Country. We offer an authentic experience--and a bit of a "raw" site--which means we are not pro-campsite folks. This is not a treehouse Asheville experience but a fun and interesting and peaceful experience for those who can appreciate it.
We prefer longer term campers-- 3 days or more. Fresh eggs provided and fresh milk when we have extra. We also like campers like the ones in the article Wheel Life with the Ladies in the Van. We can help you figure out an internet connection.
THERE IS NO CELL SERVICE HERE! We provide a walkie-talkie for your use to communicate with us and for emergencies. 911 is available from the walkie-talkie. Our roads ARE NOT PAVED! Most cars do just fine.
As we have dogs and want to protect our songbirds, unfortunately we cannot host anyone with cats. We are open to a well-behaved dog or two on a leash.
We are a professional meat goat farm on forty acres of mixed topography land in the foothills below the Appalachians.
We have some woods for having some privacy. We have two creeks. A bamboo forest.
Chanterelles in late summer--good foraging otherwise generally. We raise our own chickens, pigs, ducks, sheep, and goats. We are down the road from Love Valley, a utopian cowboy town, and about 40 minutes to Winston-Salem, 50 to Boone, and 50 to Charlotte. We are 15 minutes to the Yadkin Wine Country.
We also raise a garden in summer, and we are starting to more toward professional elderberry production. Our farm is based in permaculture and holistic management.
We are open also to longer term campers, those that might even be open to some worktrade. Tell us what you can do. Also, we occasionally need some farm sitting--
In the map included in the photos, the top part of this map shows the section of our property across Coolbrook Road. Along a side road there is access to a creek. Please be careful and engage there at your own risk.
We also have several good places to camp in the woods above Rocky Creek.

a wonderful time spent, the selection the farm fresh items was amazing. our host crystal was very helpful and happy to show us around her farm. would definitely stay here again.
Crystal and her husband were very welcoming and provided the perfect stay for us. The campsite was private, primitive, and peaceful--exactly what we were hoping for. Crystal gave us some complimentary eggs and her husband gave us a wonderful tour of their farm. They even hooked us up with a fire ring, wood, and a clean composting toilet! It felt like anything we needed would be provided, which made for a relaxing and rewarding stay. Glampers beware: their beautiful farm is for camping, not glamping! Bring your gear and build a base camp like we did. The experience was the perfect evening to the first leg on our road trip! Loved how close to 77 they were too! (Thank you Crystal, 5 stars!) We will definitely be back!
