Highly recommend river cane!
We loved our stay at River Cane and will definitely be returning. The spot is private with a pretty view of the river. The campground doesn't have a lot of campsites so it is quiet and peaceful. It also had the cleanest porta potty I've ever used! Lisa was very helpful and answered my emails quickly.
Absolute gem on the french broad
We just finished a two-week road trip and River Cane was hands down our favorite campsite on our travels!
We love visiting the town of Hot Springs whenever our travels bring us through the area. We love the vibe of the town, all the outdoor recreation in the area, and always book a soak in the hot springs. However, the campground in town was booked this time and we needed to look for options. I am so glad we did!
River Cane was a 10-minute or so drive out of town, but offered complete privacy. We were camped right along the river and a small creek that feeds into it. We cooled off in the river during the hot afternoons and enjoyed the fire pit in the evening.
The outhouses were clean and well maintained. Trash disposal and firewood are available on site.
I would note that there is a beautiful, but steep, drive in and out of the site-- we pulled our Opus to the site with no problem, but not sure that this is the place for a heavier camper. Great for vans/truck campers and of course tents.
I literally cannot wait to come back in the future!
