**EVENT October 21st, 22nd, 28th, 29th join us for a one-of-a-kind haunted boat ride and walk around the lake. Enjoy a scenic ride and storytelling and then a chilling walk or run if you must! More Details dropping soon.**

Juniper Creek Outfitters and Guide Service, located on a privately owned 22 acre lake (Lee Baysden Pond) with awesome views, great fishing, boating and kayaking. We offer a layout float dock/swim platform in the middle of our lake. We have a small office with basic tackle and supplies. We have many wildlife that can be spotted around the lake from Ducks, Geese, Heron, Owls, Turkey, Otters, Beavers, Deer, and more! Our lake offers half priced Fishing for all our camping guests. The lake is fully stocked and offers Bass, Bowfin, Catfish, varieties of Panfish, and Koi. We have some kayaks, paddle boat, or Jon Boat for rent. We are also in the beginning stages for glamping cabins. Outhouse located behind office.

Enjoy some local treats at our local Mennonite store, The Country Barn, where you can get fresh sandwiches and fine sweets, Tuesday-Saturday. Minutes from Mike's Farm and Restaurant. Restaurant opened this time of year Thursday-Saturday and featuring a NC Barn with local wine and gifts made in our state. The Fountaintown diner is opened for Breakfast and Lunch most days and Seafood Friday nights. If you are up for a short 20 minute drive checkout Huffman Vineyards. Their Blackberry wine is my favorite! Opened Wednesday-Saturday. The Tipsy Bee offering to go lunch plates, sweet treats, wine, and more just 10 minutes away. Waltons Distillery for moonshine a short drive away. Even the beach (Surf City) is just 50 minutes away!

History: The pond was originally an old mill pond in the 1920's. It does feature a long dam. It was first opened for Fishing in 1956 by Mr. Lee Baysden himself. The store/office is the original detached kitchen from his old home. The old home place is the white home located just up from the store/office. We still use the store today and it has so much history and character. The pond was owned and fished until mid-late 1990's. A hurricane destroyed the dam and the pond and land was sold. The next owner dug the pond more into the lake that it is today and rebuilt the dam. It was never opened back up for fishing during this time and kept private. My husband and I bought the lake and land in July 2020 and began our process to clearing it back up. It was overgrown and covered in algae. We created JCO, Juniper Creek Outfitters and Guide Service. Our mission was to preserve the land and lake from being developed into housing and have a nice place in our community for families and fishing. During the Pandemic we realized how important it is for families to come together and to get outside. Enjoy nature, the views, animals, and spending quality time together. These are the moments we live for.

All guests camping, fishing, or guided hunts must have permits or approval from us so it is deemed private land. NC Wildlife officials can pop by so please be aware that you may need your NC fishing License. Must adhere to all NC Wildlife Regulations whether fishing or boating. We have hosted several fishing tournaments in 2021 and  list of events for 2022!

Great hidden gem right outside Jacksonville. We had the whole place to our selves. Waterfront site with water and electric. We’ll be back for sure. The campground will only get better with the projects that are in the works.

Such a great site! And perfect for large rigs. The land and pond are beautiful and the hosts were available if needed. We ended up needing to borrow a water hose and they had one which was super convenient. They also sell firewood if you want it! Definitely a fun place to check out and very pet friendly.

This was an amazing vacation for our family and another family who joined us. We fished and hiked and camped right on the lake it was beautiful and peaceful and quiet. The host and hostess were extremely kind and wonderful to work with. They checked on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. The campsite and the campground is very clean there is a outhouse up by the Office if you need. We brought our tents and our pop-up tent for an outdoor shower and toilet so we did not need the outhouse. The host sells firewood so you do not have to go anywhere for your firewood. We rented the paddle boat which was so much fun exploring the lake we saw birds turtles snakes turkeys it was amazing. The sunrise and the sunset over the lake is gorgeous. This is surely a hidden gem. we will be back for many more weekends and vacations. Thank you to the host and hostess for making our vacation so awesome!! For those coming to camp within five minutes there was a tiny little community store you can buy your ice. the host and hostess go out of their way to make sure if you need anything they can get it for you. Highly recommend this spot for camping!!
