Kimberley was an amazing host and the yurt was absolutely magical. There are just a couple of things I would recommend. A mirror in the yurt. I myself feel guilty for keeping a communion bathroom held up to get ready. A couple of glasses in the yurt as well. We did not want to go to the main house, and weren't quite sure the rules for taking glasses. We arrived late, and did not want to be a bother.
Beautiful yurt experience
My time at this campsite was magical! It was very safe and beautiful. It was such a nice getaway for the weekend with my boyfriend. And it was only an hour drive from Asheville! Im definitely coming back to stay in the future.
Clean and comfy with awesome host
This was our fourth Hipcamp experience and once again we were very happy with the host and the site. The yurt was adorable and private. The entrance faces away from the house which is a short walk up the lane. The deck was sizable with a nice table and chairs and then rocking chairs on the other side where we set up our campfire. The yurt was spotless and the microwave and fridge were in great working order. The bathroom is located in the house and has a lock, you will be sharing that bathroom with tent campers who maybe at the site as well. The tent campers are quite a way from the yurt and the host appears to limit the sites to three so I think she accounts for the bathroom use in her numbers. It is a very clean space and comfortable. By the way the host is amazing. Coffee and muffins every morning and she has a laid back and super friendly personality. Overall I would definitely stay again. A couple of things to note. Ladies there is no mirror in the yurt and since the bathroom is shared I brought a little travel mirror (there is electricity and lights in the yurt). There is no water source at the yurt, we always bring a fire extinguisher and a gallon of water with hand wipes, so it wasn’t an issue for us, but to wash your hands etc you would need to go to the house. Honestly the walk is very quick (bring a flashlight for the night potty break) again we would definitely stay again.
Little hidden gem!
The Yurt was very beautiful and exactly looks how it’s depicted in photos. Its tastefully designed and the bed was very comfortable. The Yurt was also very clean and I noticed that the sheets were washed before our arrival. My 7 year old daughter loved the interior. There is plenty of space around the Yurt and we had so much fun sitting outside at night and gazing the stars. The host Kim is very friendly and baked us some of the best muffins and coffee. The bathrooms in the main house were clean and we were able to use it whenever we needed (even at nights). We found a quiet spot in the broad river to take a dip and it was a wonderful experience. I would recommend this place to anyone and will be back again soon
Perfect and a wonderful host
We were looking for a weekend getaway that allowed us to relax in comfort but also have easy access to plenty of hiking. We found both here. The yurt was beautiful and very cozy for a couple of wonderful nights away from home. Kimberly was amazing and so welcoming and friendly. She made us coffee and muffins each morning. I really enjoy staying in places where you are made to feel at home straight away, and we really did here. It’s so convenient to lake lure and chimney rock, with many more trails for hiking close by as well. We loved it.
