We're super excited to announce we start welcoming campers the week of May 11th for our 3rd Season!  Look for some new updates to the farm and camping sites that we made during off-season to make your stay more enjoyable.

Our campsites are on our property in a valley with mountains on all sides for wonderful views.  Peaceful, pastoral beauty, with chickens, a bunny, and a bubbling creek. Fireflies all summer long and morning rooster's song!   Sites are positioned up to 20 yards apart, which allows for social distancing in the main camping area. Please be responsible for yourselves and others to ensure this is carried out. Also, please use Backwoods Camping Etiquette *pack in, pack out.* Thanks.

There are two communal fire rings and a picnic table with six chairs.  Two fire pits provide warmth (and social distancing) as the cooler mountain air comes in after the sun goes behind the Western mountains. We have bundles of firewood available for $7/bundle.  Each bundle should provide 2-3 hours' worth of burning time.  Firewood MUST be ordered and paid for with your reservation.  (No last minute fire requests!) We also have Magical Flames which add a little color to your fire.  We recommend 3 packs ($7 per) for 45 minutes of color.  Bring your own matches or lighter for starting.

In keeping with good stewardship of the farm, please don't bring any outside wood (too many pests and diseases could be introduced to our farm). Thank you for understanding.

We have more private campsites---but without a fire pit.

We have games, too!  Giant Jenga, Croquet, and CornHole available--just $5/day per game.

As a working farm, in-season veggies, herbs, flowers, and eggs are available to purchase during your visit or to take home. You're more than welcome to harvest your own bounty!

You can hike at nearby trails to have a canopy overhead and enjoy the beautiful vistas.  There's a swimming hole just on the other side Lake Logan going towards the Blue Ridge Parkway (a 24-mile drive one way) on NC Highway 215.   We are also 20 minutes from both Asheville (I-40E) and Waynesville (I-40W).

Kelly and her husband Ben were incredible hosts. I stayed solo for the first time (and as a female) and I must say I felt safe, welcomed and comfortable. They were available at all times, but respected my space along the way. Such a pleasant balance.

The land is beautiful-close enough to downtown Asheville but far enough away to stargaze.

The sound of the creek at night was relaxing and the option to purchase fire wood and fresh farm eggs was a sweet touch.

I’ll definitely be back. Thanks again Kelly for opening your space to me.

Kelly is amazing and the property is perfect. She met me at the entrance to explain exactly where to park and remind me of camp rules. We felt welcome before we even arrived. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

Far Flung Farm was our first experience through Hipcamp and it was perfect. Kelly and Ben were lovely hosts and their property was an absolute dream. The campsites are nestled between mountains on all sides allowing for amazing sunset views. A creek runs along the backside of the property with access from the campsites. It was lovely to fall asleep and wake to the sound of the moving water. The sites were very well kept, they offered a very clean johnnie on the spot (I know that sounds like an oxymoron), water and the option to purchase firewood for the large communal fire pits. We enjoyed walking the property, visiting with the hen’s (all named after country singers), and admiring their beautiful gardens. It was also just a quick 20 min drive to Asheville. Rated 10 out of 10. Would recommend to friend, coworker, or hipcamper :) Thank you Kelly and Ben for a wonderful few days.

I had a wonderful visit at Far Flung Farm. Both Kelly and Ben were extremely responsive and helpful. It is a great location in that it is right outside of Asheville and near incredible hikes. I felt very safe and comfortable! I would definitely recommend staying here!
