Bring your RV (or tent) to the coast! We offer one 30 amp, full hook-up (water, electric, sewer) campsite on a third of an acre. Nestled alongside our home in Morehead City (6 miles from Atlantic Beach), the Coastal Tiki Hideaway Campsite #1 is your PET-FRIENDLY camping retreat just minutes from Morehead City’s waterfront, historic Beaufort, Atlantic Beach, Pine Knoll Shores, Croatan National Forest, and Cape Lookout Lighthouse and National Seashore. After spending the day at the beach or exploring the area, come back to your Coastal Tiki Hideaway to relax in the hammock, grill out, eat at the picnic tables under the expansive branches of our 30' magnolia tree, and gather ‘round the campfire to enjoy some s’mores. --AMENITIES-- The community space includes a charcoal grill, fire pit, picnic tables, Adirondack chairs, hammock, wooden bench swing, fishing kayaks, outdoor sink and countertop, and space for boat trailer parking. We offer firewood for purchase onsite through a cash, self-pay, honor system. You’ll see our son’s homemade firewood set-up complete with a hand-painted sign ‘Leo’s Tiki Shop, Firewood 4 Sale.’ Help support a kiddo’s local business. :-) The two fishing kayaks are complimentary and included in your stay at the Coastal Tiki Hideaway. The kayak racks are located on the fence at the front of the property. There’s a life jacket and a whistle with each kayak, as you will need to have those on board per Coast Guard regulations. --LOCATION-- Conveniently located yet tucked away! The Coastal Tiki Hideaway is located in the Morehead City/Newport area at the NC Crystal Coast, NC's Southern Outer Banks. <1 mile to Restaurants/Stores 3 miles to Croatan National Forest public game lands 4 miles to Public Boat Ramp 6 miles to Atlantic Beach 6 miles to Morehead City Waterfront 9 miles to Beaufort 9 miles to Fort Macon State Park 11 miles to NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores --CAMPSITE #1-- Campsite #1 is located in the middle of the lot to the LEFT of the palm tree, between the palm tree and the outdoor sink. The hook-ups are on the palm tree side, so for an RV, you'll most likely find yourself backing into the space and then pulling out when you leave. (The campsite to the RIGHT of the palm tree now has a permanent camper that we rent out separately as a vacation rental, so it is no longer for rent as just a standalone campsite.) If you are tent camping, then you are welcome to pitch your tent on the grassy strip or on the gravel. We offer a porta potty and an outdoor sink and countertop area but not a shower. During the summer, Fort Macon State Park offers indoor showers for a small fee. --PARKING-- Our RV site recommended max length is 50 ft. This includes your rig and your tow vehicle. If you need parking for a second vehicle, one additional vehicle parking space can be made available for $25. Space is limited. Upon booking, please let us know if this is something that you will need. --PET POLICY-- Pets are welcomed! Certain pet breeds are restricted, such as Pit Bull, Doberman Pinscher, Rottweiler, and German Shepherd; however, if the pet owner can provide assurance in writing of the good nature of their pet, then that would be a way to allow a pet on the restricted breeds list. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times, and please clean up after your pet. Note: We carry insurance for our business, of course, and these are the pet-policy guidelines given by our insurance carrier. If you have any questions, please feel free to message us as we would love to answer them. --WIFI-- We are a small, family-owned operation. At the current moment, we are not offering wifi. --COMMUNICATION-- Your CAREFREE beach vacation is our TOP PRIORITY! If for any reason you need anything during your stay, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are local, professional hosts, and we want you to love this space and this area as much as we do! ------ --NEIGHBORHOOD AND SURROUNDING AREA-- The Coastal Tiki Hideaway is located in a neighborhood just a block’s walk to places like Dunkin’ Donuts, Fiesta Burrito Mexican Restaurant, and Circle K. Across the street and also within a 5 min drive, you’ll find businesses such as Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Walmart, West Marine, Panera Bread, Chick-Fil-A, McDonalds, EJW Outdoors, Soundside Steak and Seafood Restaurant, and Food Network award-winning Happy Cakes cupcakery. --SPECIFIC LOCATION-- Online Maps may have our address listed as either Morehead City, NC 29557 or Newport, NC 28570. This is the same location. If you look on the map, you’ll notice we are located in a small neighborhood just off of hwy 70 as Newport meets Morehead City. Also, online satellite maps may show an older view of our street, so don’t let it worry you if it doesn’t show campsites. --GUEST ACCESS-- The campsite, entrance/exit to the campsite, all amenities, and community space are located on the fenced-in lot next door to our home. These amenities and grounds are also shared with any guests vacationing at the Coastal Cozy Camper and the Coastal Camper Hideaway, our other pet-friendly campers. --ABOUT MOREHEAD CITY-- Downtown Morehead City boasts waterfront dining and live music at places like Jack’s Waterfront Restaurant, Southern Salt Seafood, Red Fish, and King Mackerel’s. You’ll find professional offshore fishing charters, local boat tours and ferry rides to places like the Cape Lookout Lighthouse, Shackleford Banks and the wild horses, and Sand Dollar Island. The Morehead City waterfront also features a white sand beach, boat ramp, and small fishing pier. It is home to events like the Big Rock Blue Marlin Fishing Tournament, NC Seafood Festival, Crystal Coast Grand Prix, Alive-at-Five live summer music series, Christmas flotilla, Fourth-of-July fireworks and live music, and New Year’s Eve fireworks and 'crab pot' drop. --ABOUT BEAUFORT-- Historic Beaufort is North Carolina's third oldest town. Take a double-decker bus tour through the historic district, visit the NC Maritime Museum to see artifacts from Blackbeard's ship The Queen Anne's Revenge, hop aboard the Beaufort Pirate's Revenge for some sailing and swashbuckling pirate adventure, visit the Watercraft Museum for boatbuilding classes, enjoy ferry rides and boat tours to the local islands, wild horses, Shackleford Banks, and Cape Lookout Lighthouse and National Seashore. --ABOUT ATLANTIC BEACH-- At the Atlantic Beach Circle, you’ll find the newly renovated and expanded Tackle Box Tavern and Bite at the Box featuring beachfront food and brews; Idle Hour Biergarten, where you can sink your toes in the sand and enjoy food and a cold drink; and the Bahia Beach House and Surf Bar. You can also enjoy a game of volleyball or play in the sand and sea at the lifeguarded beach. Within minutes from the Atlantic Beach Circle, you can eat soundside at Food-Network featured Amos Mosquitos or visit the Oceanana Fishing Pier and Restaurant for fresh seafood, fishing, and live music. You'll also find the Crystal Coast Brewing Company, surf shops, a local diner, fishing charters, and the new Atlantic Beach Town Park complete with playground, splash pad, mini-golf, skate park, basketball court, and field. Atlantic Beach is also home to beachfront Fort Macon State Park and several events throughout the year like the Beach Music Festival, International Food Festival, Stargazing and free summer music series at Fort Macon, movies in the park, King Mackerel Fishing Tournament, Christmas Parade, Smoke on the Water Bonfire, and New Year's Day Penguin Plunge! --ABOUT PINE KNOLL SHORES-- Where Atlantic Beach and Pine Knoll Shores meet, there is both a public oceanside pier and a soundside pier. Eat at Molly's Restaurant and Bar at the oceanside pier or head just across and down the street to the soundside pier for sunset and fishing. The NC Aquarium is also home to Pine Knoll Shores where you can watch river otters play and touch a stingray! --ABOUT CROATAN NATIONAL FOREST-- Croatan National Forest is the only true coastal forest in North Carolina. Enjoy canoeing, fishing, and hunting and a diversity of wildlife from deer, black bears, turkeys, wading birds, ospreys, and alligators. --ABOUT CAPE LOOKOUT NATIONAL SEASHORE-- Just offshore you'll find Cape Lookout National Seashore, a nature preserve comprised of 56 miles of barrier islands. Popular for its white sand, clear Caribbean-like waters, and wild uninhabited, remote beach scene, visitors enjoy exploring the Cape Lookout Lighthouse grounds and historic village, watching wild horses, shelling, fishing, birding, 4WD beach driving, and camping.

Coastal Tiki Hideaway, Campsite #1
Great quiet landing spot to explore
We enjoyed our home base for our first trip to the NC beached and OBX! It was a great place to explore from and then quietly enjoy our mornings and end of day at the campsite.

Coastal Tiki Hideaway, Campsite #1
This is the perfect location for easy access to Morehead, Beaufort & Atlantic Beach. The site is well equipped with all that you need. Clean port o potty. Besides possibly a few barking dogs around it is very quiet. Can easily walk to a convenience store, Dunkin and a Mexican restaurant. Walmart close as well but must cross busy highway. Easy drive. Highly recommend El's Drive In for a Shrimp Burger - it's a short drive away. For dog owners: there is not much green space at the site but very little traffic on the street and lots of grass along sides to safely walk pet. We will be staying here again for sure.
