Beautiful set up
The Little Green Yurt was cozy and beautifully set up. Although not as scenic and secluded as we would have liked, it was convenient to Brevard and Dupont. My husband intended to hang his hammock for the night but couldn't find a place, FYI for any other hammockers.
Otherwise the yurt was great and had everything we needed. I appreciated the solar and motion lights outside. The beds were cozy, there were snacks and games for the kids and the loft was so fun. We would recommend this stay to other families with kids.
Don't think, just book.
I will preface my review by saying it rained the WHOLE time I was there, and I still had an amazing time. The yurt itself is incredibly cozy with everything you could possibly need for a couple days (or longer). Grill for cooking, snacks for hiking, clean water for drinking, mini-fridge, microwave, shower, you name it.
The location was probably my favorite part. You're right next to Pisgah National Forest which is home to incredible waterfalls and overlook trails. DuPont State Forest is also only a few minutes away with even more waterfalls and wooded trails. Our favorite day was waking up with coffee in the yurt, hiking Pigsah in the morning, lunch in Brevard, hiking DuPont in the afternoon and returning to burgers on the grill, s'mores and a nice hot shower in the evening.
I can't wait to return, and hopefully I get to experience the area when it's not down pouring. Thanks Molly & Christian for being great hosts and for having the yurt so fresh and clean when we arrived.
Great little spot for a home base to explore the area. No frills but also has everything you need. Clean place with thoughtful amenities (fire starters, folding chairs, coffee, lots of water, comfy bedding.) the outdoor shower, with a new on-demand hot water heater was great to have—the water heater wasn’t yet noted in the write up. Nearby Cedar Mtn cafe was delicious. Thank you!
Well-appointed and well-located!
We enjoyed our too-short stay at the Little Green Yurt (which my daughter named Burt). Christian was very helpful and super responsive answering questions before we arrived. We appreciated how much useful and (fun!) stuff was available--we used the folding chairs and the fire starter sticks to get a fire going and had smores. We went swimming at Hooker Falls, and our dinner at Cedar Mountain Cafe was excellent!
The owners of the little green yurt really thought of everything. There’s a mini fridge, heating and cooling, a picnic table, fire pit, cozy bed, and dishes. The porta-potty was clean and smelled fresh on arrival. It would be nice if there was cell service but there’s nothing the owners can really do about that. It’s also close to a cafe and a couple of shops, parks, waterfalls, and a brewery.
Hands down amazing! We were so close to all the best hikes. My kids had a blast. Oh and if you were wondering you can fit 3 kids on the top bed. They all wanted to sleep up there. Everything you could want is right there
Our stay here was wonderful! The yurt had everything we needed and then some. We were very impressed with all the additional finishing touches that they added to make it a truly comfortable and seamless experience. It was fully stocked with everything we needed and was in a great location to get to all of the hiking spots we wanted to go to!
Such a beautiful retreat!
We stayed for two nights in The Little Green Yurt. It was such a fantastic space set beautifully in the mountains with all of the amenities you could have hoped for. The hosts seriously though of everything! Fire starter, camping chairs, coffee, s’mores, ect.
You’re only minutes from downtown Brevard and it’s small town shops, restaurants, ect. Cedar mountain has tons of wonderful things as well. We really enjoyed the live music on Saturday at the cafe. The National forest will offer a ton of hiking and beautiful views.
The neighbors have adorable dogs that come to visit! Highly recommend petting them lol 10/10.
Our stay at the Little Green Yurt was an absolute delight! It was a last minute getaway weekend for us to disconnect (no cell service or WiFi was actually a plus), and it was perfect. We loved the cozy interior, decorated with charm and fully stocked with all the amenities you’ll ever need - plus AC! It was very organized and very clean. Both beds were super comfortable too.
The location was excellent. Just a short drive to downtown Brevard and tons of waterfalls and trails. Make sure you stop at the Cedar Mountain Canteen just a few minutes down the street, especially if the Tin Roof Pizza food truck is there. Just make sure you place your order early and expect to wait… it’s worth the hype though!
We will definitely be staying at the Little Green Yurt again in the near future!
