Wurtsboro Ridge Retreat

We absolutely loved our stay at Gerard's place! This quaint cabin has all the charm and character you would want in a mountain retreat. The outdoor space is really what won us over- plenty of seating areas for outdoor dining or relaxing, plus a hammock, a volleyball net, a fire pit, an outdoor shower. The perfect escape for spending some time outdoors. Unfortunately, the hot tub was not working for our stay. Gerard was very communicative and responded right away with some troubleshooting ideas, and even sent someone over the next day to take a look at it. Hopefully the next time we book it will be up and running because we WILL be back! We can't wait to book our next trip at Gerard's. Highly recommend!

Gerard’s house was a wonderful retreat. That cabin feel with extensive outdoor space. We were able to grill and have a bonfire multiple nights - and we were even allowed to bring my pets along! The hot tub did not work, however, Gerard was very attentive to the matter and had someone there right away trying to fix it.

I get that we are all struggling right now, but we have to check our behavior towards one another. In the end I got a full refund. To add I had a tragic death right before Wurtsboro. I wanted to reschedule but Gerard did not answer my communication. I arrived(3 hr drive) he looked at me through the window- weird. He wasn't expecting me. Finally came out arguing with me mostly about why I was there when I just had a death. Enough said.

Gerald’s cabin was the perfect place to relax, unwind, and do some great hiking. The cabin had everything you could possibly need for a weekend getaway: towels, sheets, blankets, anything needed for cooking and bbqing, even shampoo and soap if we needed it. We felt at home in the mountains. FYI The steps to upstairs are very steep but we were fine with it. There was an air conditioner upstairs so the cabin stayed very cool which was nice because it was about 90 all weekend. The outdoor shower was great! We didn’t even bother using the indoor one. The property is beautiful and secluded. I think we saw a handful of cars go by the whole time we were there. Our dogs loved running around the huge yard. If you’re up for an adventure put on some boots and go hike The Neversink Gorge Trails about 20 minutes away. Lots of beautiful waterfalls, but be warned it can get a bit muddy. We loved it because it was a lot less crowded than Minnawaska on the weekend. You can tell Gerald is working on upgrading his family cabin and we appreciated the modern touches combined with rustic charm of a cabin that has been in the family for years. We would love to visit again in the winter and test out the wood stove.

We had a great relaxing time at this property. The outdoor space was amazing. Between the expansive yard with a hammock, outdoor seating, fire pit, grill, outdoor shower and volleyball court and the surrounding forest we were secluded but had all the necessities. We saw deer running through the woods multiple times and even saw a bear crossing the road. Our dog was in her glory, roaming around the beautiful property. The house was stocked with more than just essentials. It was clean and comfortable. Our host was quick to respond to text messages and shared with us local fishing spots. We definitely would love to go back again!

This place is awesome, I don’t have one bad thing to say! It was quiet and secluded but close enough to the small town nearby and hiking trails. There was a swimming hole nearby we went to our first day and it was so pretty and the water was refreshing. Gerard left directions to all the points of interest around the area which helped so much!! We made a bonfire every night, played badminton and laid on the hammock In the shade during the day. Gerard made sure our stay was perfect and I will be back! ps- the beds were super comfy and the entire house was sparkling clean

Wurtsboro Ridge is a delightful cozy family cabin. We loved our time there. The cabin was very well stocked. The outdoor shower was lovely. We enjoyed our time in the well-maintained yard. Tons of yard games available. Gerard has really thought of everything you might need for a cabin getaway. We would definitely come back again.

Gerard's home was so lovely and cozy. It was the perfect little weekend getaway. Highly recommend!

We had the most perfect weekend at this location. The cabin was clean, cute, and cozy. We made great use of the outdoor space, especially that fantastic outdoor shower. There’s also plenty of great hikes, breweries, wineries, and more within driving distance. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend this site.
