If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Brad, our host at Close to I-86 Expressway - RESTSTOP is a super nice guy. He showed up on a tractor almost as soon as we arrived and was really easy to communicate with via text. He showed us where we could camp, gave us some tips about the surrounding area and really made us feel at home. His sweet Jack Russell Terrier, Maggie, was the icing on the cake. Couldn’t have met a sweeter pup. She followed us around as we explored the property and made it hard for us to want to leave.
As far as Brad’s site goes, we found a great, level spot that was easy to pull up into. The area was mowed and tidy and though we parked in the sun, there were plenty of spots to get into some shade. There is also a road that wraps behind Brad’s house with a few more cleared areas for camping. You can either drive up there yourself if you have 4x4 or he has a side by side you can use to get around the property.
Just down the road from Brad’s property is the town of Cuba. It’s small but worth a look! We bought a pepperjack and swiss at the retail store at Cuba Cheese! They’ve got a great little cheese shop there so be sure to stop in and pick some up before heading out of town.
I had a site just off of the state road. Perfect for my one night stop over. The towns in the area are great! Wellsville has a great brewery and the Cuba Cheese shop is always a favorite of my family when we are in the area. I bet this sites further back would be a great spot for a longer wilderness escape.
