Stayed in Eagle Perch Cabin for my Fiances Bday Weekend .
Pros; Cute cabin over looking the location , super cute set up inside and out . Nice fire set up , the view was to die for . Definitely watch the sunrise if you can get up early enough .

Cons; very close to road when big trucks go by at 2am woke us up . No curtains on window by bed and across bed . The chipmunks on the roof and under the cabin were very loud throughtout night

Overall we do recommend staying atleast 2 nights . Cute mini getaway .

We absolutely loved our two-night stay at the Eagle's Perch cabin, and it was the perfect way to spend my birthday! We are rustic camping people, but this was a great way to include some amenities but still have a rustic camping feel. The cabin is tiny but cute (just a double bed and small table with chairs), but there was electricity, a small fan, and power strip available. The Eagle's Perch cabin has a private feel to it as it has its own path up to the top of the hill where you overlook the beautiful valley the property faces (hence the name). Our cabin campsite had a private firepit with seating as well as a deck right off the cabin with a charcoal grill and picnic table. The cabin was a bit closer to the road and other cabins than expected, but it still felt very private and included a key to lock the cabin when gone for the day!

The shared lodge is where all the amenities are besides what I mentioned above, including two showers stalls and 3 bathrooms with toilets and sinks. We didn't spend much time in the lodge because we have been careful with social distancing during the pandemic, but despite there being other campers there at the same time, we hardly crossed paths with anyone and felt very safe for our 2-night stay! Also, the communal lodge and private cabins were very well maintained and clean! The lodge has drinking water and potable water, as well as a large communal table, lots of board games, and a small kitchen with some utensils, microwave, stove, and fridge. We didn't use most of that because we like off-the-grid camping, so we cooked and did everything off our private charcoal grill!

The host (Catharine) was so sweet and definitely an EXPERT on the area! We had just come up from NYC for hiking and waterfall adventures, but there was so much stuff to do that she told us during our greeting/check-in, so we will definitely be coming back for a longer stay to take advantage of all the wonderful things to do in the area! One thing to note is that all of the hiking and activities involve driving, but none of the attractions were more than about a 45 min drive away (some as close as a 15 minute drive like the Grimes Glen waterfalls we hiked to)! There are wineries, micro breweries, local eateries, hiking, waterfalls, fruit picking, and much more, and Catharine gave a thorough overview and map of where everything was! Our stay at this place was seriously magical, and we would highly reccommend the Eagle's Perch cabin as a couples retreat for outdoors lovers like us!

Recommendations to future campers:
-stay for more than 2 nights because there is SO much to do
-bring charcoal, firewood, and cookware (especially if you like outdoor cooking like we do)

Turtle Rock Hollow was a perfect getaway. Pictures are very accurate. Catharine provides pretty much everything you need and gives the best advice on what to do in the area. Also, this site is very dog friendly!

Staying at Turtle Rock Hollow Retreat was so wonderful! Catharine was so friendly welcoming and gave the so many wonderful recommendations. The common space was super clean and there was plenty of games to keep us busy. We were welcomed to a clean, beautiful site and there was so much around to do. The space is great, very convenient location if you’re looking for lots of things to do outdoors. Would definitely come back for a longer stay☺️

Catherine was a sweetheart and very helpful. The camp site was cozy and properly quirky. The eagles nest cabin is truely a great little "perch" over the property and we loved it so much. Mornings were wonderfully sunny and the we made the picnic porch feel like our home for a weekend. Wish we were still there now!
