Absolutely fantastic time. Susan and others made us feel welcomed and taken care of daily. They always made sure we had plenty of firewood. Even though it is a 15 minute drive to Albany you wouldn’t know it. We never heard any street noise and it’s convenience to civilization was great for restocking. 10 out of 10 would recommend can’t wait to go back
Very happy with our stay. Camp site was spacious and the land was beautiful. The waterfall is fantastic! Would absolutely stay again, and would highly recommend Someplace Else Camping! Thanks again!

Our campsite was really great and the hosts were very responsive. The one caution is that we have 2 kids and could not let them roam unsupervised, as there is private property nearby and the trail is not easy to find and follow. So for adults, it’s good, maybe not for families
Pros - Nice clean sites, host greeted us and was very pleasant.
Cons - Didn’t feel comfortable with the permanent site residence living in the woods near us. I do not recommend if you have little kids like me.
This was laid out more like a traditional campground, although the campsites were far apart, which is perfect. The host Suzy greeted us and showed us to our campsite. There was plenty of wood and kindling, which was handy. We could hear the train whistle occasionally, which felt somehow appropriate for being in the woods. The trails were well marked and we enjoyed doing a bit of hiking with our dog. Would definitely stay here again.

Great host, good location, but not
Great host, great location, but site was not as private as expected. This would not be a problem BUT, as there are no facilities, you have to go a long way to find your spot and dig a hole.
Our site (8) was one of 5 in close proximity. Each site had a picnic table and fire ring, and firewood, which was appreciated. Site wasn't level, but we were not in a tent so not a problem for us.
There are some nice hiking trails on the property, but you have to find them yourself, and walk through an industrial dump site, and past old derelict campers.
So, as I said above, host was fantastic, location for exploring Albany, Troy and local area is good, but if your wanting peace, quiet and no neighbours, this is not your spot.
