Our slice of paradise consists of 225 acres of forested land nestled in the foothills of the Catskills near Albany. We are a homestead and developing Eco village devoted to the principles of organic farming and self reliance. Modern agriculture and big business are unsustainable, destroying farmland at a accelerating pace. It is important for us to teach the next generation, there is a alternative. We produce much of our own food. It is a great place to forage many types of wild mushrooms, and are willing to teach those interested. We milk our own cow, also making cheese and butter. We own a sawmill, and have many natural building projects started. We have friendly goats, chickens, ducks, white peacocks, donkeys and horses the guests can pet and feed. A beautiful koi pond with a waterfall is available for the guests to feed fish. There are many waterfalls and swimming spots within a short drive. A quick 5 minute drive will get you to one of the best disc golf courses in the north east, or borrow my baskets and make your own mini course here. Don't have any gear? A fully stocked campsite with a tent can be arranged for an additional fee.

A private weekend
It was an amazing experience staying here. We stayed in site 2 which is your ideal camping spot- in the woods surrounded by trees, complete with an abundance of mushrooms. We really enjoyed walking around this magical area surrounded by good views and an adorable doggo. can’t wait to come back !
A fantastic place to say. It was a beautiful area that was very quite and had a nice fire pit. We weren't there much during the day but enjoyed our evenings. Also really was happy to see so many animals around on the property and mushrooms too!
Loved my stay, campsite 1 was perfect for our spontaneous excursion! Everyone we met was extremely friendly, would’ve loved to explore the grounds a little more but will definitely return! Extremely accommodating as well, also didn’t mind the friendly pups that greeted me everyday!
Amazing, calm and at ease
You will stay in a calm, cool, private and great atmosphere and the campsites are Amazing. I loved the shower most. The animals are friendly especially the Dog😊
I look forward to another trip…
Had a very fun time at Magic Forest! My friend and I had a good laugh after hiking the trails all day looking for the waterfall which didn't exist, not realizing the one pictured was a short driving distance away. To be fair, the map shown in the photos lists a waterfall on the blue trail, which I assume was a much tinier waterfall that dried up years back but no longer exists - hence my confusion. In any case, the campground was beautiful; we particularly enjoyed the overlook and the albino peacock with its baby peacock children :). Jason was super friendly and helpful, and very kindly jumped my car when the battery died on us. Definitely recommend a stay here!
