Voted Hipcamp #1 place to visit for 2022

Please read ***Riverside Farm is currently transitioning to adult use cannabis cultivation, which will take place off site the farm is still a working hay farm, but we will not be growing CBD Hemp this year***

This listing is for Site 1 & 2, our larger sites, which can accommodate more people and tents. These sites have closer access to the porta-potty, too. We have a separate listing (search Historic Riverside Farm- Site 3) for "Site 3", our smaller site, which has a more direct view and access to the river. We also have a "glamping" site, with a canvas tent and queen bed :-)

This picturesque family farm is conveniently located just 80 miles from both Manhattan and Albany. Riverside Farm offers 1600 feet of direct river access, ponds, rolling meadows and woodlands. You’ll have 50 acres of freedom to enjoy at your leisure. There are convenient walking paths cut throughout the property to help guide you. The farm is yours to explore, check out the beautiful, historical barns, old school hand water pumps, the old-world windmill and other hidden treasures. All the campsites have plenty of space between each other (roughly 300ft), and they all have their own access points to the river.

We are approximately 1.5 miles from Angry Orchard Cider House (due to COVID you should look into reservations prior to your stay!) . The new City Winery in Montgomery is minutes away. We are right in the middle of the Shawangunk Wine Trail and have dozens of wineries within 20 miles of the farm. World class hiking trails and breathtaking views await at Minnewaska State Park and Mohonk Mountain House, both just 15 miles away. The Bashakill Preserve is home to some of the best bird watching in the Northeast and is 5 miles away. The walkway over the Hudson and fine dining options at Newburgh's waterfront are also within a short 20 minute drive. The Shawangunk, Wallkill and Hudson Valley rail trails are easily accessible for those wanting to bike or jog. Whether your looking for a home base to explore the wonderful Hudson Valley and it's attractions or looking to get completely lost in nature's peacefulness and beauty, Riverside Farm is the spot.

This was the perfect getaway for my family! Since there's only 3 sites, you still have privacy but facilities, communication, views, seclusion are all top. The open field with paths allows you to drive right up to your campsite and each site has it's own access to the river. Portapotty is clean, fire pit, trash, and picnic table are all well kept up. There's even a fire extinguisher in case of emergency. And the host offer fresh eggs from the farm. Our favorite part was the swingset at the top of the hill. We watched the sun rise from it as the geese flew by and our baby slept in our arms. So peaceful!

An extremely pleasant stay with very accommodating hosts. They went above and beyond to ensure we and our dog were comfortable and taken care of. Would love to stay here again. The river side camp site was the icing on the cake!

Happy dog!

We had a great experience at Sam's place. It was the perfect site for our 2 small kids to explore the river. Sam was a great host, helpful and thoughtful but from a distance. We will definitely be coming back again and will recommend this site to anyone who will listen.

Lovely spot by a river. Friendly and accommodating host who for a few bucks provided us with some fresh eggs from his farm. Had a fun time, will definitely return.

Sam was a thoughtful and responsive host! We had an emergent need for a campsite when we arrived too late to be admitted into a NYS park from out of state. Sam got back to me immediately and accommodated my group with little notice. The campsite was lovely! Hearing the rush of water from the river was very relaxing after a stressful situation. We enjoyed the fire pit and the porta potty was immaculate. Great first experience with Hipcamp!

We absolutely loved this camp site ! So serene and peaceful , close to the water so we fell asleep to the sound of the small rapids near by. The porta potty was a great addition to added comfort. We purchased fresh eggs for breakfast (delicious) and wood for the night. We would absolutely come back (and hopefully be able to rent campsite #3 which is a bit more private). Highly recommend !! Our pups loved it too and loved swimming in the river.

Easy to find! Close to town. Not really a spot to “swim” but we loved laying in the shallow water and taking in the scenes. Its close enough to other campers that you can see them but you can’t really hear anything. Our dogs just kept wanting to visit them 😂. Really well maintained land. We appreciated the fire wood and picnic table set up. It was a great trip!
