Many State parks are within an hours drive.  Their is the famous New York Times acclaimed Bees Knees Organic Cafe located 1 mile from our house that offers award winning organic breakfasts and lunches every weekend all year round.

I had the pleasure of meeting Stephen, his family, and one of his neighbors. They are really some of the friendliest people. They were all incredibly accommodating for anything I might have needed. I was given some choices about where to put up my tent, and I chose the wooded option since I had a hammock I wanted to string up. There are some farms along the very private dirt road that Stephen lives on. My car was a convenient distance from where I was able to set up. The views of the Catskills, sunset, and sunrise are all stunning. There's also a small field full of wildflowers right next to the spot I set up. I enjoyed a peaceful walk on the dirt road during sunset. I would be glad to camp here again.
