Welcome to the Arcabuco (Woods)!
Our Fairy Magic Sweet Land of 12 acres in the Catskills is the perfect place to pray with the fire, the water, and to pitch your tent, gaze up at the stars, and unwind next to a nearby fire. We provide all our guest with cedar so they can set intentions, release what no longer serves them, and pray in nature. This raw, soft, organic land is a home teeming with life. Listen to the birds as they sing throughout the day and into the night. (We call them the fairies). Look for the curious creatures that walk the earth like the frogs and newts. Open your ears to the sweet sounds of the East Mongaup River; and perhaps take the brief walk down to visit her.
LOCATION: We offer five upper campgrounds on this luscious land; each with their own fire pit. Please do not create your own fire pit.
AMENITIES: We have three outdoor bathrooms near the upper campgrounds as well as two outdoor showers, one with hot and cold water and one with only cold water. An outdoor kitchen with a sink, small stovetop, and basic utensils is available for all campers to use. The kitchen is a communal space, so campers must clean up after use. An indoor tent heater to keep you warm is available to rent upon request. Bundles of wood and fire starters are available for purchase. A single quad pickup to bring your belongings down to your campsite as well as a single quad return to your vehicle at the entrance of the land is available for purchase as long as prior arrangements are made.
PROVISIONS: Our land is home to an array of life. With this in mind, we highly recommend that you bring and use a bug repellent, properly check your body each evening before bed, and properly check your body when you return home. Common to camping in the Northeast are ticks. In addition, it is important that you store your food above your campsite in a tree or in your vehicle. As campers in the Northeast, wildlife including bears are a common sighting; so it is imperative that you are not sleeping with the food that you bring. Our purpose is to preserve the land, so we ask that you do not disturb any of the trees or foliage by carving into them, sitting on them, breaking them, or removing them. We prefer to not have alcohol on the land, but if you wish to indulge, keep it at your site, and ensure that the land is kept as it was or better when you arrived. Please drink responsibly and respectfully on your campsite only.
LOCAL ATTRACTIONS: A few excellent local restaurants include The Pickled Owl, The Red Dot vegan, Tilly’s Diner and Nelly’s Latin. Hiking trails in Thompson Park, Minnewaska State Park Preserve, and Sam’s Point. Weekly concerts Bethel Woods Center For The Arts, shopping centers, a casino Resorts World Catskills, and Kartrite Indoor Water Park can all be found in the nearby towns of Bethel, Swan Lake, and Monticello. The Kittatinny Canoes alongside the Delaware River in Pond Eddy, Silver Canoe & Whitewater Rafting
RIVER ACCESS: Campers on the upper campgrounds have access to the River from 8am to 7pm. Campers must walk on the path and may not walk onto the River campgrounds. It is a seven minute walk down to the River.
QUIET HOURS: 10:30pm to 7am. The owners will be on the land.

Camping as it should be.
This is a lovely spot. A friend and I were camping for the first time with our dogs and Chantel and her husband were understanding and helpful. She was super responsive to my questions and concerns before booking and put us in the site closest to our car, which was just a short walk down an easy path. Our stay was right after a big storm so finding dry tinder for our fire was difficult, but Chantel and her husband came by to help start our fire and make sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable. They are very connected to nature and their culture and we were blessed with song and drumming before quiet hours and greeted with the same the next morning. They encouraged us to explore the property and venture to their beautiful river, which also had sites near the shore for those campers who would be a bit more adventurous and feel comfortable hiking in and being further from their vehicles. This is a location that is great for campers wanting to “rough it” and be at one in nature. We would recommend this site and we’ll be back again.
Chantel and Jesse were great very responsive hosts. We got in late which made finding our campsite tricky but we absolutely loved the seclusion of it! Worth having to navigate! Not like a commercial campsite where you can see the people around you. Didn’t take advantage of the shared kitchen or shower area. We were greeted in the morning by the hosts and chatted about really great things. They made us feel at home and welcomed. They really care about the land and making campers feel it is their space too. Great hiking nearby and we even went sky diving while in the area too! Would definitely go back.
Love, friendship and comfort :)
When you find a place that makes you feel like home, is the moment you realize you always want to feel that way, and Chantel & Jesse are doing great in this fairy land, you feel welcomed, loved and cared for, even animals are there to show us the Love, The space, the River of YES, the people volunteering and the rest of the campers all co-living in one safe space is the most beautiful thing anyone could ask. Hot shower, star gazing, private toilets, your own fire pit, drum circle, beautiful host, what else could you possibly want, "is about being comfortable in the uncomfortable" Chantel's words, and here, well, you get the best of both worlds, wild and comfort in the same space.
Thank you for the great experience, we will definitely go back, my friends felt so inspired, they planning their next trip up there haha, who wouldn't?
