Site is just a 2 minute hike up a small slope to the site from where you may park your vehicle.
Site is priced accordingly at $50.00 for a four night stay. this includes up to 4 individuals. additional people will be charged at $ 5.00 per person per stay.
Close enough yet far enough for a first time family camping experience. About an hour drive or train ride from Manhattan. 1.3 Miles from Appalachian trail crossing. Chestnut landing is ground camping for now, site can be accommodated with tents and cooking utensils for additional fee if needed as well as lessons on camp site prep and safety guidelines. Highland Gateway Park allows year round hiking and horse back riding, but no motorized vehicles, there are trails, ponds and springs to discover as well as an abundance of wildlife.
