Be one with The Great Outdoors near New York's picturesque Canandaigua Lake in the Finger Lakes. Our Mountainside Camp offers a retreat for the fully equipped camper who wants to get off the beaten path. Here, you're within driving and biking distance to the Town of Naples, NY (Grimes Glen Park), and Canandaigua Lake, and all of the beauty and culture of the Finger Lakes Region is at your doorstep: vineyards and wine tours, water fun on the lake... and so much more. Within an hours drive you can bike, hike, camp fish, boat or swim in 7 of the 11 FINGER LAKES (Conesus, Hemlock, Canadice, Honeoye, Canandaigua, Keuka, and Seneca. Keep truckin' and hit Cayuga, Owasco, Skaneateles and Otisco. (or 90 minutes until you reach the 11th FINGER LAKE, Otisco) The camp has come along way since it was established (June 2017) when our Scout Camper came to stay***, with "Base Camp" site maturing with level tent sites, fire pits, benches, tables, port-a-potty. "Hawks Landing" site (1/2 way up the hill) making progress as well, not so much road noise up here. "Eagles Nest"; all the way up is the most private deep in the woods, 1000 feet back! More carved out camp sites to come soon I hope.

Great site! will stay again
This was an amazing campsite for the price, and as promised, it was private, quiet, hilly, and beautiful. Unfortunately, the data on maps is about 1.5 miles off of where the address actually is (no fault to the site owner), and the upper site was a pretty taxing hike for some people while carrying their belongings. There is a lower site just next to the cars to stay at too but we camped at the upper site because the traffic on the road was a little noisy at the bottom site (at around 10pm the traffic pretty much stopped entirely so we could have stayed at the bottom). There is tons of logs and kindling for fires and there are two beautiful streams on either side of the campsite. Also, the stars were amazing and you could see an arm of the Milky Way streaking across the sky, and yet the real impressive thing was the stunning silence at night when no one is moving/talking. The site is about 20 minutes from a general store and McDonald’s, plus there is great cell service so it’s not completely removed from society. There are no tables here and there was a little bit of trash left from the previous campers but these are my only two serious complaints. Everything else was great and I highly recommend staying here.
Overall rating: b+ (will return)
We stayed at Mountainside Camp over Labor Day weekend. The site is secluded and located only about 25 min drive to the north end of Canandaigua Lake (we rented kayaks for the day). Chis M. was responsive and very quickly accepted our reservation. There was some firewood (large logs) when we arrived, but we mostly had to search for smaller pieces to build and maintain the fire, especially for the cooking area.
We set up at Base Camp, as the other 2 spots did not appear to have any flat areas for our tents, and Base Camp had the most space and largest fire pit and cooking area. Base Camp is closest to the road and you can definitely hear the all the cars drive past, but it’s very quiet at night.
There was another group that arrived Saturday afternoon, and set up at the second site, Hawk’s Landing, half way up, though we couldn’t hear them one bit.
The portable toilet on site was not used at all (by either group, I believe), as it definitely needed to be emptied and cleaned a bit.
Only suggestion, aside from the portable toilet cleaning, would be an increase in supplied firewood. All in all, it was a great stay and we truly enjoyed the time away. Would likely return and certainly recommend others check it out.
What a gorgeous open wooded space. Heard owls hooting at night, plenty of seating, enough deddfall to keep the fires burining all weekend. Would love to come back when the stream was running!
Wonderful spot for real tent camping. It Well kept firepits. One at the parking area and another further up the hill at the appropriatly named Hawks Landing. Be prepared for walking up hill since it is an a mountian. There are also a few peaceful trickling creeks close by.
It very peaceful and clean here. The owner Chris was very helpful answering every question I had. The only down fall was the site at the bottom you could hear the traffic (but that still wasnt bad), it wasnt enough to bother us camping. Beautiful property!!
The mountainside camp offers privacy and close proximity to some beautiful hikes. The site itself is large enough to set up camp up the hill away from the road. Chris is a great host; he was super responsive all weekend. 10/10 would recommend.
