18 acres hosted by Bianca K.
Celestial meadow is a BIPOC and LGBTQ safe space.
The 18 acres of forested land was formerly used for hunting, so has been left mostly untouched. It is a wonderful mix of elm, oak, maple, pine and hemlock as well as some grassy meadows and old stone walls. It is currently owned by two NYC transplants who express their creativity in nature, foraging for herbs, weaving and creating art out of grass and pine needles, and cooking in the wild.

Welcome to Celestial Meadow,! This beautiful bell tent is set on a private meadow on 18 acres of nature. Gaze at the stars around the fire pit or grill on the BBQ by the picnic table as you unwind amongst the alder and blueberry bushes, soft grass and scent of yarrow and other herbs. The handmade Caribbean hammock is the epitome of relaxation, and the heated outdoor shower is the highlight of many campers trip!
Celestial Meadow is a two minute drive from Mountain Dale @visitmountaindale, charming, artsy village. Forage & Gather is a great place to start to pick up local meats and veggies for the grill, and their breakfast, coffee and lunch is unmissable! Next door is Willow and Post with an incredible assortment of natural wines, and craft beers and spirits. People come from far and wide to experience the charming outdoor creekside bar restaurant and brunch spot “High Voltage” that features live music and campfires on weekends. The Dale serves arguable some of the best sourdough pizza in the Catskills, and theres live music (and disco!) on weekends. Sandburg Trading is really handy for any forgotten essentials (and ask them if they have their famous Empanadas in stock!) For special vintage pieces in all natural fabrics check out Ambika’s boutique. Witchey Handmade also has amazing herbs and ethical skin care goods.
Along the village runs the Rail Trail, which is excellent for hiking or biking along the scenic reservoir. the hiking in Shawanagunks is spectacular, and the trails along the Neversink River provide beautiful swimming holes.
Additional Amenities at the campsite:
• 5-gallon potable water tank (can be refilled with the shower hose)
• Outdoor propane heated shower
• Compost toilet (private and secluded for your comfort)
• Space to pitch two extra tents.
• Firewood available to buy by the bundle or unlimited, in extras
• Electricity, and Electric Heater inside the tent and an outdoor accessible plug.
The tent is furnished with a table, comfy chair, full-sized bed, and decorated with a cosy vintage feel. The full sized mattress sleeps two, and an additional single mattress that folds into a chair can sleep a third. There are lamps, a kettle, a fan and wifi for those who want to feel socially distant without feeling off the grid.
The meadow is fairly close to a small country road so you will hear the occasional car, but the sounds of the frogs, crickets and cicadas will be what mesmerizes you. Also, this being wooded land, deer are common, but generally keep their distance. However, with deer, there are ticks. There haven’t been many this summer, but check yourself daily and keep your tweezers handy.
Black Bears are rarely spotted, but it’s always great outdoor etiquette to store all food in your car or the cooler provided, and not to store any food in the tent.
I love food, hiking, the arts and vintage shopping, and am always happy to answer any additional questions you have about things to do in the surrounding area.
