We’re new here and excited to share our property with you! We’re under an hour’s train ride from Grand Central Terminal, along a scenic Hudson River commute, and only about 30 miles north of NYC. You may set up your tent on one of our 4 sites. You’re free to scout and choose your favorite spot when you arrive (you’re not bound to the site number you booked, except for treehouse). Or you may sleep in the treehouse: IMPORTANT Treehouse is at Site 1. Contact us to make sure it’s available *prior* to booking. We keep guests and sites limited to offer better privacy, distancing, and seclusion.
The property: Find your serene spot on six secluded acres surrounded by woods with private trails leading to nature preserves, lakes, and the Croton river. You may pitch your tent or fulfill a childhood dream and sleep in our treehouse with wraparound deck
ADD-ONs: 1. We can rent you a one-person and/or two-person tents with camping mats, and a sleeping bag (please ask prior to booking about availability). 2. If you don’t have a car, you may hire us to organize hikes, farm, or town visits. We can also give you a lift from the station. 3. Try a sauna tent outdoors; it’s amazingly relaxing (ask for pricing and reserve). 4. Cooking class: learn how to bake sourdough bread
*Please note, we’re not a commercial camp site, nor remote wilderness. The experience is perhaps something in between. Our home is on the property, and we’re sharing with you our land and outdoor spaces in a beautiful residential area at the end of quiet country lane. We’re on several acres surrounded by nature with access to gorgeous countryside and quaint small towns.
About treehouse: Site 1. Sleeps two adults inside. A third may be able to sleep on deck, weather permitting. No pets inside. A tiny home: 5’ x 7’ area, 6’ high ceiling (not including sleeping loft which is a separate area above), perched about 10’ above ground, accessed by rope ladder: a certain level of fitness and agility is required to make the climb. We recommend children are at least 7 years-old and comfortable with heights and climbing. You may sleep on the two Tibetan seats that unfold into single beds, on a camping mat, either inside the treehouse, on the sleeping loft which is also accessed by an interior rope ladder or on the wraparound deck. The treehouse is weather and waterproof. There’s no electricity though you do have access to electricity if needed at main house. It’s an in between staying at a tiny cabin and camping. IMPORTANT Contact us to make a reservation prior to booking.
What to bring: Bring what you would normally bring when camping in the wilderness. Suggested: bug spray, flashlights, batteries, water bottles, sleeping bag, towel, toiletries (though bedding can be provided if you request it at booking).
Activities: Swing on hammocks in the woods or in the garden; play a spot of tennis; zip line through the trees (by permission only); forest bathe discreetly; spot wildlife, including bald eagles, owls, red foxes, wild turkeys, tortoises, toads, ground hogs; roast marshmallows in the firepit; enjoy a drink in the “butterfly” garden; bbq on the deck; enjoy a run or stroll through our peaceful neighborhood; find your favorite spot for yoga or meditation; go hiking on any of the hundreds of nature trails in the area; go canoeing, kayaking, sailing on the Croton or Hudson Rivers that cross the village; shop at local sustainable farms; visit historic Hudson Valley sights like the Rockefeller estate. Quaint towns like Mt Kisco, Tarrytown, Bedford, Cold Spring, Beacon are only a short drive away for you to explore.

If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
My friend and I stayed at the treehouse and it was so beautiful! The site is close to some great parks and nature and Callia is so helpful and nice. Overall we had a great time and would definitely recommend :)
Great experience and attentive host
We had a great stay at Brambledam. Callia was very helpful and friendly and really went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and fun. We had one night’s use of the Treehouse which was particularly fun for the 2 boys who claimed it as theirs for the night. We then moved to the butterfly site the following day. The fire pit came in good use and we enjoyed the use of the grill too. The North County trailway is close to the property and provides a very scenic and easy bike ride with kids. Of course the dam is spectacular to walk or bike too. You have to time your visit to the Blue Pig for ice cream as it gets really busy but worth the wait.
Unique experience, attentive host
Our stay at Brambledam was so much fun. Callia really went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. We had 1 nights' use of the treehouse which was quickly claimed by two boys. The following night we stayed at the butterfly site. We had really good use of the firepit both nights and enjoyed the use of the grill too. Croton Dam is a short walk and amazing to hang out and/or picnic. The North County Trailway trail is closeby too and provides a easy scenic bike ride with kids. Great lunch at Cold Spring Depot - a short drive up north well worth it. The town of Croton is nice too and the Blue Pig is not to be left off for after grilling ice cream (time your visit though as this place gets really busy).
We stayed in the treehouse and it was beautiful! It was easy to get to from the city. We had a lot of fun walking down to the dam and nearby trails, and grilling! Callia was so friendly and hospitable! Would definitely recommend :)
Callia went above and beyond. The tree house was stocked with blankets, utensils, drinking water etc. You can tell so much thought went into making the tree house experience relaxing and enjoyable. She even offered tea and coffee to campers in the morning. The property is breathtaking and we would book again in a heartbeat!
