Watton Airstrip is a stunning property, nestled on the banks of the Macquarie River. Featuring nine riverside campsites, along with paddock and bush sites, all 4WD accessible and two equally stunning 2WD accessible sites. You’ll share our spaces with kangaroos, wallabies, emus, echidnas, deer, platypus and more. Enjoy some optional extras, including Tammie's home made bread, farm fresh, free range eggs, or one of our range of grazing platters, home made jams or hot chocolate kits. Or pamper yourself with a Crystal reiki session, or tarot reading. The 2WD accessible sites feature spectacular views to the right, towards Mt Panorama and Mt Horrible and towards Mt Canobolas to the left. Lie back in your swag at night and let the star struck, velvety sky envelope you, or make a booking at the nearby Bathurst Observatory to see the stars up close. Each campsite offers its own unique features for you to enjoy and a hand crafted pit toilet is accessible to those camped along the river bank. Fish or swim in the river, ride your bikes, or set up camp and then head off on an adventure to the Goldfields at Ophir, or History Hill at Hill End via the Bridle Track. Better still, book into a pub crawl with Damo so you can lie back and enjoy the ride. There are plenty of opportunities for 4WDing and bushwalking in the local area. Fires are allowed (fire restrictions permitting). Wood can be collected from fallen wood around the property, or bring your own if you prefer. Pets are welcome for a one off fee per animal. We do ask that pets are supervised at all times and that they do not interfere with farm animals or local wildlife.

Rivers Edge 4WD Only
Peaceful paradise
Tammie and Damo are the most wonderful hosts. Tammie came and rescued me when I managed to get lost and was so kind and made sure I made it to my campsite safely. Frank the baby alpaca was just the sweetest little guy. I loved his visits and interactions with us. Coffee in the morning by the river it’s your feet in the water is definitely the way to start your day. I hope I manage to make it back sometime.

The Rapids 4WD Only
Such a wonderful break away to soak in the beautiful serenity. It is my new favourite stay and I can't wait to come back. Such a well kept & maintained property, easy identifiable spots. The track down ain't for the faint hearted so definitely requires 4WD & not a massive van as there would be clearance issues but it's totally worth it!

Sticky Beak Hill 4WD Only
Private with beautiful views
We loved our stay at Sticky Beak campsite. It is set on a hill with beautiful views, away from the other campsites, yet a nice, easy enough walk to the river for a swim. Damien and Tammie are great hosts and I highly recommend Tammie's homemade bread.

The Beach 4WD Only
We camped at the beach, lovely spot close to and with easy access the river. The horses were friendly but one of the alpacas was a bit of a menace by trying to get too close to our campsite. Be mindful if you have smaller children if you don't want them to get too close. We enjoyed our stay and would go back again. I would also recommend having your own toilet as when we visited, the odor from the pit toilet was really strong. Tammie and Damien are both fantastic hosts. Thank you for sharing your property with us.
