Watton Airstrip is a stunning property, nestled on the banks of the Macquarie River. Featuring nine riverside campsites, along with paddock and bush sites, all 4WD accessible and two equally stunning 2WD accessible sites. You’ll share our spaces with kangaroos, wallabies, emus, echidnas, deer, platypus and more. Enjoy some optional extras, including Tammie's home made bread, farm fresh, free range eggs, or one of our range of grazing platters, home made jams or hot chocolate kits. Or pamper yourself with a Crystal reiki session, or tarot reading. The 2WD accessible sites feature spectacular views to the right, towards Mt Panorama and Mt Horrible and towards Mt Canobolas to the left. Lie back in your swag at night and let the star struck, velvety sky envelope you, or make a booking at the nearby Bathurst Observatory to see the stars up close. Each campsite offers its own unique features for you to enjoy and a hand crafted pit toilet is accessible to those camped along the river bank. Fish or swim in the river, ride your bikes, or set up camp and then head off on an adventure to the Goldfields at Ophir, or History Hill at Hill End via the Bridle Track. Better still, book into a pub crawl with Damo so you can lie back and enjoy the ride. There are plenty of opportunities for 4WDing and bushwalking in the local area. Fires are allowed (fire restrictions permitting). Wood can be collected from fallen wood around the property, or bring your own if you prefer. Pets are welcome for a one off fee per animal. We do ask that pets are supervised at all times and that they do not interfere with farm animals or local wildlife.

Easter weekend trip
The site we stayed on was a bit of a walk from the river area but we had privacy and a massive space to ourselves and the alpacas. The hosts are lovely and very helpful. Would recommend (especially the sites near the river)

The Rapids 4WD Only
Great secluded spot. We took our adult children off grid camping for the first time. They all had a fantastic time. Plenty of space to spread out and play games etc. lovely river for swimming and fishing.

Peace and quiet, no mobile reception which is what i wanted. The was no swimming creak like the page suggested. But over all a very nice trip.

Really nice host, great spot.
I really appreciated being able to camp on such green lush grass and fall asleep to the sound of the creek. It was a wonderful campsite.

The Hideout 4WD Only
The hideout site is nice and secluded, drops down next to a running stream, Damien recommended us to camp right next to the stream and we're more than happy he did, great sight to wake up to. Even though some neighbours are visible you're more than 50+ meters away. We got the bread and eggs and had a fantastic brekkie. Horses and alpaca are friendly and don't bother you much. Damien met us at the gate and gave us some local advice and left us alone, real friendly guy. 100% put this on you're list to visit.
