Located at Bilpin, this  beautiful campsite is nestled at the foot of the majestic Blue Mountains and backs onto Wollemi National Park. This magical 16 acres is abundant with wildlife and where you camp is the mouth to the beginning of some great hiking tracks in the National Park!

There are a few great campsites to choose from- one at the top of the property (good for families/large groups) with good flat ground and surrounded by a lush forest. It's close to the road so it is easy access in and out, another two at the back with water views and one in the forest at the other end. (If you have 4wd and portable loo we can give you an exclusive spot in the bottom of the golden gorge).

We have a two night minimum on Summer weekends. But please message the Host if you would only like to stay for 1 night as we may be able to fit you in!

Enjoy the sounds of the bubbling stream and see the sunset at the waterhole. Sit back and relax around the campfire whilst toasting a marshmallow or some damper.

This campsite offers a unique heptagonal toilet (no shower yet but its on the way). Please ensure you're fully self sufficient with all other supplies (including water). From here you can explore the amazing Blue Mountain views, marvel at a magical glow worm dell, check out the 2 apple cider breweries and taste some of the region's delicious produce.

Colo River is 30 mins away, a clear waterhole is 10 min drive ( 4wd only- hosts can transport if available), the mouth of a hiking trail to the National Park is on the property, the main township of Bilpin is close by with the baker, fruit and vege picking, Mountain Bells Cafe (host recommendation), apple pies galore and the restaurant , the markets are on Saturday morning 10-12 noon at the local hall and there is a free meditation group 9am Sunday at the monastery. With so much to do you will need more than one night or plan a return visit to the amazing Mountain Lagoon Hideaway at Bilpin!

We can also offer massage and reiki treatments on site as a 'nature immersion' experience or if you prefer it can be in the privacy of a massage studio (10 mins away), guided nature and wildlife walks/sunset walks or longer hikes, professional ecology tours, fire twirling lessons or performance and African drumming lessons, games for the kids, local produce hampers, eggs and BBQS (with notice). Please discuss with your hosts for further details and availability :)

Please ensure you read rules and safety as well as directions, because GPS will take you to the wrong property.

The land is a nature retreat and developing animal rescue sanctuary so we love to share the space with respectful nature loving people :)

We look forward to welcoming you to our unique and magical place ! *****

Simple pleasant stay with great loo

The camp was easy to find just next to the (quiet dirt) road. The ground was flat for camping with a good sized fire pit and heaps of kindling and marshmallow sticks around. The toilet was a stroll to the other side of the dam but worth it for a 5 star loo. It was a hood site for first time campers and the spectacular Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens were a lovely excursion from there.

We had a lovely time at Mountain Lagoon Hideaway.
As well as being very convenient to Sydney, the camping is pleasant and exploring the Wollemi National Park backing on to the camp was great.
Dannii was also a terrific host.

We had a great time staying at Mountain Lagoon Hideaway. it peaceful and lush an green just as we had imagined. the campsites are spread out enough that you quickly forgot the other groups were there. The directions were easy to follow and setting up was drama free. The toilet was a clean and the extra touches Dannii provided were so lovely and thoughtful. Great place to stay to unwind and relax.

Looking over the National Park is an absolute delight, access to the property is really easy and the directions were great.

There are some nice flat spots for bigger groups or if you have a lot of gear, and some less established spots for those who travel light. Be sure to communicate what kind of space you need.

We saw some koalas and had a few visits from the resident goanna.

Good place to go for a easy get away, close to Bilpin and Hillbilly Cider breweries too!

Hi Lauren, Thanks for the feedback and kind words. I'm so glad you and your lovely crew had fun and saw koalas and the goanna! We have since widened a part of the track away from the road. We hope to welcome you all back one day and will make sure there is plenty of space for ensuites and trailers. Take Care, Dannii

We had an awesome weekend staying at Mountain Lagoon Hideaway. Despite disruption from some disrespectful fellow campers, Dannii and Ads were incredibly welcoming and we had a nice corner to ourselves with plenty of space. They have clearly put their heart and soul into making the place comfortable for their visitors. Thanks for sharing your beautiful property with us!

Thank you for your kind words and for staying with us. It was lovely to have you and your friends here with us. A respectful and kind bunch of people. We appreciate your understanding whilst we fixed the damage from the other campers. It was unfortunate it effected everyone.
