This is a natural open bush site on a 67 acre bush property surrounded by forest. Firewood can be provided cut and split (add it to your order).

Guests must have their own camping toilet and leave no trace as no amenities provided. There is an empty shelter shed if required in wet weather. BYO drinking water.

It is secluded and offers time to enjoy the quiet time away from a busy lifestyle.

It is abundant with flora and fauna even after the bushfires of December 2019/20.

Your host is Loretta and Trevor Parsley. Loretta is a locally known elder and custodian of the Walbunja country and Yuin people, she will share her love of the area and local history with you.

Access is on a dirt road, about 4km off the Princess Highway. Better suited for 4WD access although high clearance 2WD have accessed in the past.  People do access in 2WD. 4km of dirt.

Murramarang National Park is a 10 min drive from Middle Earth. Enjoy the beauty of the landscape. Highly significant Aboriginal site.

Nearest beach swimming is Depot Beach and nearest river swimming is Shallow Crossing, both 10 minutes away. Clyde River Berry farm is on the way to Shallow Crossing - pick your own berries (when in season). The famous East Lynne Pie Shop is not far away.

A lovely tranquil location, with lots of birds. Good access to Murramarang National Park. The camping location is quite sloped - it can be a challenge to find a good tent spot. Must provide your own toilet (except during peak summer season).

It bucketed down for most of the weekend including when we arrived. Thank goodness for Barney's LeanTo, it was a godsend and a wonderful place to shelter. Be aware that overnight condensation may make it drip inside as much as outside (well it did with 100% humidity anyway).

Loretta as an absolute treasure, a wonderful human being and artist (who holds classes which we're going to avail ourselves of next time we stay) . Her husband Trevor is the perfect foil for her and together they made us feel very welcome.

The area is open enough for dozens of people and there was heaps of firewood available (we paid for some).

East Lynne store is five minutes away for cappuccinos and pies and a squizz at the vintage motorcycles.

Beautiful, quite and well maintained site! We had a lovely time at Loretta and Trevors property.

Had a camp fire each night while stargazing. It’s close to beaches and Batemans bay if you’re keen to explore. Would recommend!

We love this campsite. Quiet and private. Loretta was very warm and welcoming. She made sure we had everything we needed. There was plenty of good firewood and even a bonus portaloo that we did not expect. The bush on her property is very quickly recovering from the black summer fires and it is fascinating to see it regenerating. We loved seeing how the birds and other wildlife are returning and learning about the land from our hosts. Middle Earth is very special and so are Loretta and her partner.

You won’t meet nicer people than Loretta and Trevor. We camped in our rooftop tent with a couple more tents for our group. Trevor provided plenty of wood for the fire pit. Very peaceful location. Aboriginal art session with Loretta was hit. Our small dog loved his stay too.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Middle Earth. It was a beautiful place to unplug and relax. During our stay, my daughter and I took part in an art class with Loretta. It was a wonderful experience, Loretta shared some of her culture with us and we learnt a lot as well as producing artwork we were proud of. While we were there my husband and son enjoyed 4WD adventures on the nearby tracks. We all would have loved to stay longer, highly recommended!

We enjoyed our stay on site. Host escorted us in and told about forest still recovering from bushfires. Had a quiet night at the camp fire before bed time.
