Quiet and handy to ellenborough fal
Communication and greeting was fabulous. The road in from the north not so :-)
Hipcamps lists 5 camp sites and there are numbers at the camp, but the sign at the toilet says camp anywhere.
The camp ground is a roughly mowed area around the hall and down a grassy slope to the river. Access to the river is a bit problematic but when we were there the water looked quite muddy so we weren't tempted.
There is plenty of nearly flat room at the top of the hill around the hall for big vans. There is one nice flushing toilet at the hall.
The camp is only 3km from the falls on a mostly quite gravel road and easy walk.
We had an excellent weekend at the Hall Grounds
The host, Kate, was absolutely lovely and very informative about things around the area!
We will definitely recommend it to others
Green, birds and a creek - paradise
What a wonderful place. We had the whole area to ourselves. Lovely green grass, hills, a billabong, a running creek, beautiful bird life, an old disused tennis court and showground. Weather was beautiful too. Couldn’t have been better! We got some great tips from our hosts about places to visit.
A hideaway for true nature lovers
My first Hipcamp stay could not have been a better introduction to this valuable service. Delightful, comfortable and very private site with plenty of room to spread out. Plenty of character and history on site and a geographically wonderous waterfall nearby. We even swam with the platypuses in the large pool. We shall return and explore some more.
It was quiet and the bird life is amazing.
We saw a bower bird, loads of honey eaters, finches etc
There is no showers. So be prepared for that. Plus bring drinking water.
But we totally enjoyed the area.
Kate and hubby were very friendly.
