We have 250 acres in the Chichester Valley, we grow chemical-free vegetables and farm cattle. We have campsites on the Chichester River and we are in the water catchment area for the Chichester Dam. Suitable for caravans, camper trailers, tents, motor-homes etc. Good access, 4WD not required & plenty of site options. There is no mobile reception here (unless you climb the hills!). Dogs are not permitted due to livestock. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place, firewood for sale by the small garden trailer load, see photo. Tank water available at the house if required. No amenities so campers must be self-contained and leave no trace. There is a dump site in Dungog Showground, bring a CHEMICAL TOILET ! All campsites are by the river, you can bring your own fire wood. Price is per person. Kids under 12 stay free!

Glenmoore River Camp 1

What a great “Get away from it all” campsite, right on the pristine Chichester River, surrounded in rare Cedar trees covered in ferns and orchards. I have done a lot of camping in my 65 years and John’s Glenmoore Park would be in my top 10. John is a terrific host having lived in the are for around 40 years, he keeps the campsites mowed and tidy. With regards to finding the place, make sure you download the Chichester map as GPS reception is patchy. There is now phone or TV reception so download a few movies before you go. I found some Telstra reception, at the top of the hill, on in the public approach road if need. Take water shoes for swimming as the river stones are sore on the feet, FYI the water is like a soft shower, great for the skin and hair.

Glenmoore River Camp 2
Glenmoore is the epitome of Hipcamp - peaceful, private and scenic. And the river was crystal clear and whilst not deep enough for a swim per se, we could still sit in it and cool off. Which was needed as the weather was really warm for two of our four days there. Mid week we had the place to ourselves but even when camp #1 was occupied we didn’t hear them at all, nor could you see them from where we were set up. John was so great to have a yarn to each morning - particularly important to find out the weather and general, useful info about the area. It was also reassuring to know he was around as you are quite remote and we had no data. We shall definitely come back to this beautiful area, and to Glenmoore!

Glenmoore River Camp 1
Awesome Camping spot and Host.
We loved camping here. Almost like you were camping in heaven. Well spaced out from other campers, it was like you had the place to yourself. John was awesome, checking in the mornings to make sure all was ok and if we needed anything. River was right there for a swim on a hot day or it was just peaceful to watch the water flowing by, and read a book in the shade. No phone/TV service, which wasn't a problem for us as it was great to be able to switch off from the world for a few days. Definitely recommend and we will definitely be back!
