Peaceful and private
Hans' property was perfect for camping! We were able to find a quiet and private spot near the toilet, which was great for us! Plenty of options for camping spots, and the river running through the property makes for a peaceful night's sleep. Just a note though - I think 4X4 vehicles are required for access, especially if in wet weather like we had. Dry weather a 2X4 high clearance might be ok.
Really beautiful property. Very remote. Had a great night stay. Never met the host and was not able to contact him.
Couple of things that I wish I knew before arriving:
> GPS coordinates are completely wrong and are a 40 minute drive away. I know because we ended up there. Follow the included text directions once you confirm the booking. Otherwise it is on Google Maps as ‘Jindarra Retreat’.
> We have a beat-up 2wd Mazda 3 and did not trust the car to make it on the road to reception. It was fine as there was plenty of room to camp in the first paddock. You need to cross a creek (~30cm deep) to get in at all.
> We did not find the toilets and never met the host. For that reason I wouldn’t come here expecting toilets.
Great spot but needs some tlc
We enjoyed our stay. The site was very peaceful and quiet and had beautiful waterfalls and swimming holes nearby but the property was very overgrown and an old run-down shade house that was falling apart was a bit of an eye saw. Being so overgrown was concerning particularly given the season and snakes. Having flushing toilets was a great bonus and we were lucky enough to see fireflies at night. Only complaint was how overgrown the property was. Other than that it is a great spot but just needs a little TLC.
