I had a peaceful night sleep on Chris’s farm. Chris is very kind and helpful. Unless you have a high clearance vehicle, be prepared for a hike with all your gear (200+ yds). Also, the road in and out to the house is quite rough, just be aware.
Chris's property was not far from Hwy 53, about a 10 minute drive. It was close to El Morro and El Malpais. The little town of The Ancient Way has a great art gallery, restaurant, and trading post. The stars were glorious from Chris's place. Chris and her dogs are very nice!
chris was great, happy to have met her, the farm tour was great, the dogs were extra-great. the site was a good distance from the house, near an awesome outhouse. and, we had fresh eggs. great experience, all around.
We literally had the best time ever! My girls didnt want to leave, and Ms. Chris was the sweetest. She let me girl gather eggs, then in the morning they got to help feed all the animals. We are already taking about when we can go back
An Amazing piece of heaven in peaceful pine country...Lots and Lots of land to roam around. Also, it's plenty of space for the friendly sheep and dogs. The host was VERY friendly! She made sure we could find our location and she provided water for us. We even bought eggs from her hens!!!
Chris was a great host. She even gave the kids a tour of the farm animals and let them collect eggs. The campsite location is beautiful and remote. We had a great time and was 20 minutes away from El Moro for a day trip.

Clean, large, quiet, beautiful camping area under the pines. Fire pit is nice and you can see the stars because no lights around to interfere.

Chris was so awesome and made our stay so welcoming. We really enjoyed the beautiful pines and the stars, oh my...spectacular! Highly recommend! Make sure to follow the coordinates in hip camp for directions. Enjoy!!!
