We literally had the best time ever! My girls didnt want to leave, and Ms. Chris was the sweetest. She let me girl gather eggs, then in the morning they got to help feed all the animals. We are already taking about when we can go back
A piece of heaven under the pines..
An Amazing piece of heaven in peaceful pine country...Lots and Lots of land to roam around. Also, it's plenty of space for the friendly sheep and dogs. The host was VERY friendly! She made sure we could find our location and she provided water for us. We even bought eggs from her hens!!!
Great campsite and host
Chris was a great host. She even gave the kids a tour of the farm animals and let them collect eggs. The campsite location is beautiful and remote. We had a great time and was 20 minutes away from El Moro for a day trip.
Chris was so awesome and made our stay so welcoming. We really enjoyed the beautiful pines and the stars, oh my...spectacular! Highly recommend! Make sure to follow the coordinates in hip camp for directions. Enjoy!!!
Serene, private with amenities! go!
Fantastic time! It was as if we had hiked into the backcountry as the site was so private. Very peaceful. The most relaxed place we have stayed. You don't have to worry about generators or kids crying or other campers playing loud music into the night. Yet if you want to you could without bothering anyone.
And yet, as some of us have medical issues, we were comforted by the fact that a landline and help was close enough at hand.
We felt completely safe and felt at ease with the young ones running around to their hearts' content.
Chris was awesome, very pleasant, welcoming, and gave our little ones 'tours' of her farm animals. And she was considerate enough to tell us to wait a day to visit the chickens because it was our first day happened to be slaughtering day and she didn't want the kids upset by it.
Chris was incredibly accommodating and offered to help with any and all things, she helped us transport our gear to the site with her little tractor, gave us fresh eggs, yet gave us all the privacy we needed (she was not nosey).
We also loved King, the resident dog (a wanna be sheepdog but). Very well behaved. If you saw him wandering the property you could call him and he would come over and you could pet or play with him, yet when you where done you could just say 'go on' and off he would go.
It was cool to wake up to a herd of sheep right outside our tent! And we would see them throughout the day as well.
There was a table, fresh water, a fire pit, and a nicely constructed homemade outhouse (like you saw in 'Little House on the Prairie.' The outhouse was far enough away from the site that you couldn't see it or smell it, yet not too far to walk even at night.
We can't wait to go back. It will definitely be a place we go every year!
Can't say enough positive things about Camping Under the Pines aka Wifflebird Ranch.
You won't be disappointed!
Just go :)
Couldn’t ask for more
Such a great site and host. The ranch was amazing it felt like we had the whole mountain to ourselves. The extras were more then expected. We were so comfortable and relaxed. I highly recommend this site if you want a great and comfortable camping experience.
