We warmly welcome you to come and camp on our isolated 160 acre New Mexico ranch and experience peace, tranquility and breathtaking scenic beauty. Whether you're headed here or there on I-40, we're located just 5 miles off of the interstate. After a long days' drive, we offer a peaceful experience.

Pitch a tent on one of several designated camping spots (or pick your own) or bring your RV or camper trailer and prepare yourself for amazing radiant sunsets, jaw-dropping night skies, and rejuvenating sunrises. During the day hike the surrounding red cliffs and mesas, view the ancient petroglyphs and find amazing pottery shards scattered throughout the property, or just hang out. Occasionally a herd of elk will venture out. At night you will be serenaded by the neighboring coyotes and resident spotted owls. Feel like exploring off the ranch? Visit the nearby Casamero Pueblo ruins a 1/2 mile down the road, Bluewater Lake State Park or drive to the small post-mining town of Grants and explore the Mining Museum, Bandera Volcano & Ice Cave, El Malpais National Monument and many other nearby interesting sites!

I don’t know who liked The Golden Rose Ranch more- myself or my dogs. When we arrived Harry greeted us and showed us right to our site and talked briefly about the property and where to walk etc. I felt so safe and enjoyed having a place to stay that was safe my my dogs as well. I only wish I could have stayed longer, but we will for sure be back! The property was quiet, private, and beautiful. Harry was a great host!

The golden rose ranch was phenomenal. We drove 20 hours to get here and it was totally worth it. Mr. Harry was as nice as a host as anyone can be. We really appreciate him letting us stay. As others have said, it's hard to leave, you'll want to stay longer.

We camped in a tent at a wonderful site - awesome views in all directions, petroglyphs within walking distance and a sunset followed by star gazing we’ll remember for a long time. Just to add, Harry, the owner, made us feel very welcome when we arrived, and the site he led us to was so quiet we slept deeply all night.

Great little getaway from ABQ. Sunset was beautiful and it was nice for our three dogs and two young kids to run and hike around. Petroglyphs were super cool, beautiful little camping gem. Hosts were super friendly and helpful.

Harry is a marvelous host of a magical piece of land. And what campsite includes a walk among ancient petroglyphs? Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!

Me stay here was absolutely magic! I almost only camp in dispersed areas, but Harry’s home was on my route and looked special. Special isn’t even half of it. The area is stunning with beautiful red rock that glows at sunset. Ancient petroglyphs are on the property. My two dogs enjoyed roaming the grounds for hours. To top it off, Harry gifted me with farm fresh eggs from his chickens before I left (leaving was very hard, I wish I could have stayed longer!)

Thank you Kelsey for your kind review. We're glad that you and your dogs enjoyed it as much as we do. The chickens are producing more than we can eat right now so it's great to be able to share w/ guests.

The site was beyond expectations: stunning vistas, access to petroglyphs on property, peaceful and quiet, easy access camping sites (which permitted an amazing morning and night sky views). Harry and Victoria are very thoughtful, kind and available hosts. We are grateful for the opportunity to experience the sacredness of this land.
