I had a great stay at Tres Caballos. Milette is unbelievably hospitable and is very knowledgeable about the area. The Casita was very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone.
Thank you Milette!
Great stay! It was our first time in Las Cruces, and we really enjoyed our stay. Las Cruces seems like a clean town, and this place is on a farm near orchards, just outside of town. The casita had a full kitchen, covered patio, and it was fun to see the chickens and horses! We even got to eat some fresh eggs. I would recommend Milette’s place to anyone staying in the area.
Great patio spaces, shade and sun- and a nice pond to sit in the sun by. Very comfortable, spacious bedroom. Long roads to walk on. Good thunder storm. I like Milette’s rocks and sculptures. And generous with snacks and coffee
This place gives you space, peace and quiet. It lets you greet a morning with a cup of coffee or tea and see stars like most don’t get to experience.
You can easily take off to hiking areas, hot springs, or restaurants but the place also has everything you need.

I’m on a road trip through NM and stayed here for 3 nights. I arrived on Xmas evening with everything closed. Milette had stocked the kitchen with yogurt, fruit, and chocolate and generously offered me homemade tamales, scones and a beer when I arrived. The casita is filled with intriguing books, Milette’s art, lots of blankets, pillows, heaters, a water kettle, and everything you need to be cozy and warm. It was sunny and warm in the daytime and I had a great time soaking up the sun and enjoying my coffee from the porch overlooking the stables. The casita is right next to Milette’s house so you’re not too isolated. Spending time with her three horses was a wonderful experience. They’re very curious, gentle, and beautiful creatures. Her location was a great base to explore nearby hikes and soak in the mineral hot springs of Truth and Consequences. Communication with Milette was great from start to finish. Her casita feels like a home away from home and felt like a safe quiet sanctuary for this female traveler.
We had such a great time staying on Milette's property. The Casita is clean, spacious, and has everything (and more) that you need to be comfortable. We got the opportunity to meet Milette's beautiful horses, and watch her work with them for their training. The whole area is so peaceful and quiet, it was really great to be able to watch the sunset in the evening and watch the stars come out so bright at night. She also has a great little "she-shed" that overlooks the fields, a perfect cozy little spot to sit with a glass of wine and chat with friends or family. Tres Caballos Casita is also right next to the Rio Grand River and close to White Sands National Monument - two places you should definitely check out!
