Star Dance High Desert Retreat

This unbelievably gorgeous spot has been lovingly cared for and maintained. It’s an incredible setting to be with the earth and reflect. And the full kitchen, clean bathrooms, and hot tub add a little luxury! We loved the hike into the canyon and sitting in the hot tub under a blanket of stars. I can’t recommend this peaceful destination that Diana has created enough.

Star Dance has become our home in New Mexico! We’ve been here multiple times and each time has always been breathtaking!

Whoa. What a place. Star Dance exceeded my expectations. The hospitality was above and beyond, and the views were incredible. It’s always a treat to sleep outside, but even better when there’s a bathroom with hot water, and a well equipped kitchen. I would’ve stayed forever in that hot yup if I could!

Fantastic views from the rim, great star gazing and we loved the outdoor shower. Michael and the dogs are awesome. Chatting with Michael made this a very special stay! Look forward to our next visit.

We were thrilled with our stay at Star Dance and will look forward to a return visit, for sure. The property is in the shadow of Cerro Pedernal, iconic mountain mesa depicted in Georgia O’Keefe paintings and in the movies. Big skies, remote open spaces, mountains views, canyons hikes. It was more than we imagined, and there were also extra surpise amenities. Great host. Loved it there.

Star Dance High Desert Retreat has set the bar for others to try to match. Everything from the friendliness and helpfulness of hosts Diana and Michael, to the beautiful location and the varied and sparkling clean facilities, is top notch. The experience here rates 5 stars across the board.

The canyon is absolutely gorgeous!!! Campground is perfect, kitchen well equipped, nothing short of being well fed while camping. Outdoor showers so refreshing! The trail to the riverbed is wonderful with view points along the way. Michael, our cowboy story teller host was pretty awesome!
