Shanti Village was perfect for us to get away from the busy city life. Off the grid, quiet, and the Yurt was a great experience. The night sky was absolutely amazing. The yurt itself is nicely decorated with relaxing Buddha theme. it's big enough that we didn't feel crammed. We were also looking forward to staying in a bus, those looked so cool too, but unfortunately our itinerary took us too far south to come back the same day. Our Hyundai Elantra managed the dirt road pretty well, some spots got bumpy but it wasn't an issue. Shelly & Bri are awesome with the instructions to get there (even at night we found it) and quick responding to text messages. We do hope to go back and visit western NM via Santa Fe and would love to try out the bus next time. Thank you for making our experience a great one!!

A magical experience. Wished we could’ve had more than 1 day. If you need to rejuvenate, relax and meditate, come here. Just bring a high clearance, 4 wheel drive. Peace, love and happy vibe feelings abound in this paradise. Couldn’t have asked for nicer folks to meet, help and hug. We got the signs! ❤️❤️❤️

This place is amazing. Temperature was great in the yurt. The road in was a little rough but even our Lexus sedan made it!

The Shanti yurt was one of the most amazing places I’ve ever been. Totally a magical experience. The location is very remote, and very peaceful and beautiful.
We arrived late, and I wouldn’t want to arrive after dark only because the roads would be harder to navigate in the dark.
The yurt was so cute, the property and ambiance absolutely gorgeous, and I can’t wait to go back and spend more time.

Fantastic! This was my first experience in a yurt, and now I want one. We spent 3 nights in the Shanti Yurt. The first night there was a tremendous thunderstorm that was magnificent to view! The yurt stayed dry and comfortable. The next day the road back down to the highway was only a little flooded in places, and we easily got through them with our Ford Escape. In addition, I saw others visiting the community in sedans, so although the unpaved road seems a bit iffy, it's not so bad, if you take it slow. The only downside for me was the heat -- it was July -- during the day. Opening the yurt dome helped, and I found the temperature much more bearable than in my tent, but it was still hot. DON'T LET THAT STOP YOU! The views are stupendous. The mountain land is restful. The little town of Madrid that is only a short drive away is worth a visit -- great gelato at Jezebel. I can't wait to go back for a longer stay in the cooler months so we can test out the woodburning stove!

Clouds are so cool!Love the clouds! The road before Trigg Trail (the yurt road)Sunset
