Set up your tent, small camper or vehicle on 20 acres of raw land in the mountains of New Mexico that has been mostly untouched for almost 100 years! The property is filled with amazing finds like pottery, crystals and volcanic rock mounds that lift you to some of the most beautiful views of the surrounding areas! This area is a remote subdivision with plenty of open land to set up a tent or small camper, enjoy hiking on our private mountain and experience nature all around you.
**This is a BIPOC, Cannabis and LGBT+ safe space**
There are a limited number of neighbors as a result of the owners homesteading the surrounding 40+ acres near the campground. Only small campers/RVs are able to be accommodated due to heavily wooded areas. Campsite areas with established fire rings are a 5-7 minute walk from the designated parking area immediately off the road and fire wood is provided in the designated areas. Select areas of campground and roads are equipped with solar lights for the dark nights if you're night explorers hoping to catch a glimpse of an elk, rabbit or coyote!
All fees go directly to improving the campgrounds, adding greenhouses to host gardening classes and have fresh produce available, restoring indigenous trees/plants that have been wiped from the area, creating a pond for fresh fish and reviving the wildlife plus, adding more amenities for future camping! For these reasons, pricing is priced per person (children 4 yrs old & under not included).
The Hosts are farming, ranching and homesteading on the surrounding properties and are unable to accommodate check-ins after 5pm. Please be advised check-in times are from 12 pm - 5pm, thank you.

Thank you, Cristina and Daniel, for sharing your spacious land and gracious hospitality with us. For travelers seeking quiet refuge off the 117, near Techado, Sustainable Camping Close to Nature is the place to rest. Privacy assured and endless hiking possibilities. The farm fresh eggs were also a treat. Highly recommend.
Camping on the Mountain was great. We arrived late, around 10pm, and were received warmly and we were given a quick tour of our campsite. Campsite was clean, secluded, quiet, safe, had LOTS of fire wood ready to be enjoyed, and were even left with a shower, water, and other goodies. Very happy with our stay. Would definitely stay here again in the future. Thank you Cristina!
