The camper does not have cooking facilities or electric hookup or heat, but does have LED lights.

Located 28 miles from Interstate 25 and 16 miles from Interstate 40, with paved road to our property gate, our 32 acre property sits in the middle of an ancient bread basket irrigated by a 12 mile-long ditch dug by hand and horse plow in the 1820’s.

The area is sparsely populated, mostly by small subsistence cattle ranchers, descendants of the original land grant Spanish settlers. Very quiet, and home to many resident and migratory birds and large deciduous trees fed by the irrigation ditches. We are part of a rich oasis ecosystem in the middle of the desert, fed by the beautiful Pecos River, a 20 minute walk from the campground through pastures.

Our adorable 1955 Comet vintage trailer is located at campsite #5 and is located next to a lovely pond where you may see birds, bats, frogs and garter snakes. You can drive up to this site.

A composting toilet is located at the campsite and a cold shower, utility sink and fast Internet wifi are located near the farm building a couple minutes walk from the campsites. A communal fire pit is at the campground and we provide firewood and everything you need to get a fire going.  Just bring the marshmallows. We have a pack of four wild and loving dogs that enjoy having visitors and extra attention.

This is un-groomed traditional New Mexico. As rural and agricultural as it gets. A place we have fallen in love with and enjoy sharing with many visitors.

WIND! The New Mexico desert has strong winds at times, as we sit in a large watershed.

RAIN! When they come (June-Sept), the rains (monsoons) can be intense.

SNAKES! This is rattlesnake country. We respect their role in the ecosystem and do not harm them. Please be aware that an encounter with one of these mighty beings could occur during your visit. We have seen two this season and four last year.

We are a Community Land Trust in very early phase of development. Our mission is to return farmland to the commons and create an attractive model of live-in work environment that can inspire the re-population of farmland, providing affordable home ownership, using regenerative practices for food production and wildlife habitat restoration, and relying on a variety of cottage industries to comfortably sustain a multi-generational community.

It has enriched our lives and we are delighted to host people in search of unusual camping experiences. If you appreciate quietness, big skies, starry nights, bird watching, cattle, coyote, lush grasses, horses, dogs and the raw element of the desert, this may be a good place for you.
